Don't go if you don't enjoy apples ! LOL. We went on a saturday and yes it was busy, with even the freeway exit being busy and it took us a few extra minutes to pull off the freeway.
You go from apple farm to apple farm, and each one has a little different thing to offer. We got apple cider doughnuts, apple cider, apple dumplings, apple pie, and anything you can imagine apple related! You can also buy bags of apples to bring home, although we opted not to. My nephews enjoyed playing by running around the big fields and also running on top of some hay bales that were lined up in a maze-like configuration.

Lots of fun apple products, lots of different farms, crafts, history, beauty. Great place to check out in the fall.

The owners / staff here are upbeat and friendly. We always feel welcome at the Apple Hill cafe. We love the breakfast... ample food, fresh fruit, and good coffee. The back patio was recently renovated and makes for great views, weather permitting.

With Fall at hand - a day trip to Apple Hill is always a wonderful way to spend the day. There are numerous ranches and farms to visit - many with baked goods and crafts to temp you. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing. I always stop at High Hill Ranch and Boa Vista. High hill has a small lake for the kids to fish (catch and release) for a nominal fee. They have a Pie House and grill for lunch and dessert. they have a general type store where you'll find lots of variaties of apples and lots of specialty butters (Apple, pumpkin, blackberry), pickles etc.

We live in the El Dorado Foothills and we love to visit Apple Hill every year for crafts, apples, pies and they are wonderful about donations for our church.
