Excellent food and service. Great wine selection. We stop here every year after wine tasting in the gold rush area near Placerville.

Food was all great, perfect for lunch. All tables were full when we ate there just before Thanksgiving Day. The local residents kept coming in, so you know it is good. Prices are very reasonable. We loved it!!

Small resaturant so get there aerly as they fill up. What better endorsement than my husband's (a lifelong junk food junkie) for an organic restaurant????? Their dishes are unique and delicious. They have another restaurant (The Independent) but we didn't get a chance to try it.

Don't let "cafe" fool you. While the restaurant serves light dishes and pizzas, Heyday serves a pretty broad dinner menu in a casual/chic setting. I sampled some of the lighter dishes, including pizza, gazpacho (photo provided) and ceviche. Ceviche was the winner but it was all good, complemented by a diverse board of wines by the glass, including, of course, local selections.
