Cottage Inn by the Sea

We stayed here as part of our trip along route one during our honeymoon. We had mentioned in our booking the occasion of our trip and were surprised by a lovely bottle of champagne and card to welcome us to our room. A really lovely touch. We stayed in the US for four weeks and stayed in around 15 hotels. This was the only one to welcome us in such a lovely way!

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean, quiet and the bed was amazingly comfortable!

The beach here is beautiful and we spent many hours sat on the cliff watching dolphins and sea lions playing in the sea below. Pismo itself is not as pretty as we'd expected and there is little to do here. If you're after a relaxing holiday in a friendly, quiet hotel with amazing views of the beach - this is the hotel for you! Oh, and the pool and hot tub are really a lovely added extra!

This hotel was excellent. We could park the car in front of our room. The room was really big, with a fire place (it worked) and a fridge. The bathroom was big and really clean.
Excellent beds and very cosy. Unfortunately we only spent one night, but we could have easily stayed a week or more.
The pool and spa was gorgeous, overlooking the ocean. And the water was great. It was open till 10 pm.
Breakfast was excellent. So much choice, from cereals to fruit. Name it, it was available. The staff was very friendly.
This is the place to be. If you're traveling between LA and San Francisco, this hotel is an excellent place to spend the night(s) .

Room Tip: Our room was near the pool and ocean. Nice and quiet. I have no idea if the rooms that were closer t...

Well, I just couldn't stay away! I was here last year in the Fall and found myself longing to return. The weather was perfect and I can never get enough of the view from the hotel's outdoor seating area on the bluff above the beach; out to sea and south along the miles of beach with the small town of Pismo Beach, the pier and more beach beyond. I enjoyed the fireplace this year just to take the chill off. The staff is so accommodating and the room was very clean as were the grounds, the morning breakfast is always a nice treat as the selection is good and the homemade waffle machine a very nice touch. I also like how the staff makes special accommodations for their dog visitors including dog bisquits and this year, a great travel dog brush, they even have a rinse off station for dogs that have enjoyed the beach and are salty and sandy! I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Room Tip: The hotel is walking distance to a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, but don't mis...

It is a shame we were only here for one night as it really is a beautiful place in a beautiful spot. We didnt arrive until late so only had time for a dinner locally followed by a dip in the hot tub.

We had a bottle of champagne and a congratulations card in our room which was very thoughtful (we were on our honeymoon) which was a lovely touch and the bed was so comfortable. We had a great nights sleep over looking the ocean.

The breakfast was also superb

Room Tip: Pay for a sea view room

Cottage Inn by the Sea in Pismo Beach is a wonderful location to stay, and as a veteran guest, two thumbs up experience for many years. I have yet to find anything wrong as to the staff, manager, rooms, food, ocean view with relaxing area on the cliff, and overall bang for your buck has been a favorite and returning venue at least 4 to 5 times a year. You feel like family coming back to enjoy the experience and leaving with a smile of satisfaction. Enjoy, relax and feel the AAHHHH at the Cottage Inn.

Stayed here for 3 nights before starting our road trip around California. Nice, clean hotel, well worth the money.
Pismo Beach is a really nice place and we were pleased we stayed here before starting our long trip. Breakfast was good, staff/service was good and we had no complaints.
This hotel was as described and we would have no problems recommendiing it.

My boyfriend and I stayed here earlier this month and I would happily go back.

I emailed in advance and asked for a room with a sea view and when we arrived we were given a quiet room in the centre of the Inn, with a view that looked out over the pool and to the beach/sea beyond. The room itself was clean, a really nice size with 2 huge beds in it, had a balcony with chairs and a table and a nice clean bathroom - all good!

Breakfast was fun with make your own waffles as well as all sorts of cereal, fruit, yoghurts etc., plus there was a real sun trap terrace that we ate outside on, and being on the side of the building away from the road, it was a peaceful way to start the day.

If you want a trendy, modern place or a secluded spot, this isn’t it. The hotel is on the main road, although I didn’t hear the traffic from the room we were and the road isn't the main freeway (although that is only a little way away). The decor could be argued to be a little old fashioned, but I thought it had character and suited the place. Add all of this to the helpful and happy staff and I would defiantly come back.

Room Tip: Call or email in advance and ask for a room away from the road and with a sea view if possible; just...
