The "Manager's Special Rate" was given to me over the phone. We received two drink coupons per person for the evening cocktail reception and a hot breakfast with a decent inside / outside dining area. The pancakes were absolutely perfect and my daughter was happy to find hot sausages. I'd go back again just for the pancakes!!! We were in a hurry & we were happy to find the service was quick. The king bed was just like the **** hotels. It was nice to have the two rooms since my daughter wanted to stay up and watch a show on the pull out sleeper sofa and I was able to shut the door. We had a 2nd floor room overlooking the pool. It was a nice place for the price and easy access to the freeway. Wish we could stay another day just to see Pismo & visit the shopping outlet next door.

Discusting, dirty, would NEVER go back even it was $59 let alone the $149 we paid. Sheets stained, knob on shower broken, toilet running ALL NIGHT LONG, beds are no the most comfortable beds in town and the customer service was the worst. Secured deposit, but arrived late. They gave away our room and the lady at the counter did not care one bit. No offer to find us another room, no nothing. Then she called us 15 min and stated that she had a room. Ended up staying at the best western down the street. same price, except everything was great (and an ocean view to boot).

Oxford Suites: You REALLY need to get a handle on your establishment in Pismo Beach. They are dragging your name all over the place.

We booked this through Hotwire and paid slightly more than we had the previous night for a fabulous 4* hotel in Monterey.

I agree with a previous poster who said it would be OK if you closed your eyes from the car until you got inside the room. Somehow the outside is just so depressing - even the colours it is painted makes it look worse.

The staff at check in are really friendly and the lobby is fine - two computers for use which is great, and free fruit available.

The rooms are spacious and the bed was really comfy, so no real complaints, once you were inside the room ......... except for the noise. I could even hear snoring from the next door room!

The free breakfast was absolutely indescribably awful - the coffee was undrinkable and the cooked breakfast was inedible. It really would be better if they stuck to providing toast, cereal, bagels and fruit and invest in some decent coffee.

Would I return - probably not. Even the Hotwire price of was way too much.

We've just came back two days ago. Oxford Suites overall is a great place to stay. We enjoyed the soft bed and pillows, very comfy bed. The breakfast was served in the morning although I don't recommend the scrambled eggs and hash brown (tasted like rubber). But it was still very nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a hot breakfast (had toasts and oatmeal). The staff was very professional and friendly. The pool was nice. The hotel is very close to an outlet mall which is a bonus. I would stay here again.

If you understand that this is a true motel and not a hotel or certainly not a resort you will be fine. The rooms have wood or pergo floors which is such an amazing thing to have in a motel- no cooties in the carpet! The rooms are awesome inside- if you could only close your eyes from your car to your room you'd think you were in a nice hotel. BUT on the outside it is an older motel with crumbling steps, no elevators (not fun with luggage), gloppy paint on every surface. My beef with this motel (aside from not calling themselves "motel" so you know what you are getting) is that even though you book a non smoking room people stand outside of your room and smoke a plenty. I checked into this and found out that as long as you don't smoke inside your room you can smoke right outside of everyone elses room. If you have asthma or small kids you might want to consider this. Everytime I had to come or go someone would be leaning on the railings smoking so that you have to walk through the clouds of smoke. Gross. I think they should have a non smoking wing where smoking outside of the rooms or on the stairs is not allowed. All in all: the pergo on the floor is great; beds very comfy; fold out couch - the worse I have ever felt; bathrooms- humid, non vented, damp; maids pushing noisy rolling carts outside your window on concrete surface all morning and early afternoon- awful; decor is that of a much nicer place than it is. I think I would stay here again if they did something about the smoking all over since there is not a lot of choice in the Pismo area (not counting three star places).

My husband and I were on our way back from a trip to Pasadena and wanted to stop by Pismo Beach. The hotel desk clerk was very professional. She asked what kind of room and where we would like to stay in. We specified top floor and away from traffic. We got a room away from the pool and near the spacious lawn area in the back of the pool area. It was a weekday before the Thanksgiving weekend. The living room area was well maintained, with a L shaped couch and a coffee table, regular amenites such as coffee maker, coffee/tea, fridge, TV/VCR, not sure if there was a DVD, a table and 2 chairs where you can work. The bedroom was separated by a sliding door and the queen bed was very clean and comfy. The vanity counter was very good size, with hairdryer. There was also a TV in the bedroom too. Bathroom has a toilet and a shower/tub combo, very clean. Also there is a small balcony that we could sit with 2 lawn chairs but facing the parking lot. No special view but bushes. The breakfast was full hot breakfast. I didn't know the breakfast room was so full of people until we walked in. We didn't any noise during our stay there for 2 nights. You could sit outside the breakfast room where there were tables/chairs/umbrella set up around the pool. There was an evening wine/snacks reception in the library/lobby area every night. I have to say with the price and AAA discount and the amenities, it was a very quiet and relaxing trip. Thank you, Oxford Suites and keep up the good work. This was our second time staying with them, first time in Redding back in the 90's.

During our trip up the PCH, we found Oxford Suites on a freeway billboard - and were greeted by the front desk clerk with a happy disposition. That's a big plus right off the bat! She checked us in quickly, and gave all 3 in our party free drink tickets. We proceeded into the small bar off the lobby, which also had a small buffet set up. We drank beer and house wine. Did I mention free cookies and apples at the front desk as well? After a long day on the road, we were thankful for these welcome touches.

The lobby has a Spanish interior, with plenty of seating, a library, and gift shop to pick up a few esssentials.

Did I mention free internet access at 2 computers in the lobby? If Oxford Suites had more places on the coast, we would have booked our next stop there!

2 room suite was fabulous, comfy beds, 2 tvs. Yes, the breakfast was sub-par. Yucky eggs, so we passed on the hot food and had toast and coffee. Bad, tasteless coffee, so we made our first stop a Starbucks for real caffeine.

Overall - an excellent value for $150! Don't pass this one by!
