Description: Our Mission To provide excellent food and service to all of our guest in a clean, comfortable, casual AND FUN atmosphere. Serving the finest seafood available, in a most casual style.™ The Details of Our Philosophy Although we serve fine food in a nice atmosphere, please dress casual should you choose us for lunch or dinner. Our concept is largely based on dumping a bucket of various shellfish on your table with a mallet, crab crackers, and other tools to get the job done. It can get messy, but hey, we clean it up! We feature "in season" product, printing our menu daily based on what's available. We serve several local fresh fish daily, and use local farmers for fresh in season produce all year round. We use a local butcher and a local baker. We always have a steak for those of you who don't eat fish, a chicken dinner for those of you who don't eat fish, and we can sauté a vegetable dish for those of you who don't eat fish, meat, or chicken. We have been open since May 1999.

Dinner was very good. It was very nice to choice a lobster on one plate and a steak on the other plate and split the two. Worked out cost wise and was very enjoyable. Would tell friends to check out this restaurant. It is not hard to spend a $100 bill. But it was very good. As mentioned, don't let the tables and walls scare you. Not dirty at all, just a little funky.

Ok.....this is the place for some of the best crab you will ever eat!!! I could not believe the portions here....and it's seafood. The wine list is above and beyond, the service excellent, and did I say Awesome Crab???? Just a tip, we ordered the crab dish of 3 different choices of seafood that gets dumped in the middle of the table. Not only is it a great experience, did I say Delicious????:)

Nice cozy restaurant and ambiance but the noise level was horrible. I had to lean in across the table in order to hear the other couple speak that were with us. The room was always drafty as it's small and the door opens up right into the room where you're sitting . It is constantly being opened by people entering and when the waitress opens it to go outside to call out names from people lined up waiting outside. This goes on every few minutes. Fine in the warmer months but it was unpleasant during February!

Crab was good but way overpriced. Like that you can choose from a variety of crab that you want in your bucket (bucket for one = two choices.....bucket for two = three choices). Some of the choices were optional for extra $$$ (not included in the main price) which only added a heftier price tag to the already expensive price (one of the crabs we chose was an additional $16.00). We were assured the bucket for one was enough to split but it wasn't. Didn't care for the sausage. Too spicy. What a weird side! Would have enjoyed coleslaw better. There were thick potato chunks/wedges instead of fries and they were lukewarm as was the entire meal. Even the little candle they put under the melted butter server for the crab only kept it cool/warm. The crabcake appetizers were good but again very small size (2 for $16.00). Wound up ordering another plate to share with hubby. Clam chowder was just O.K. Nothing beats Splash Cafe for chowder. The sourdough rolls were fabulous. Couldn't get enough of them! The Keylime pie was excellent as was the hot apple cobbler.

Have to say we had the most fabulous waiter. He even donned plastic gloves and help show us how to crack the crabs and use the variety of tools they put down in front of you. Was great explaining how the menu went and always came back to refill drinks (soda, beer is all they have....no hard liquor or wine). May go back but there are so many other seafood places to try in the area.

Great crab and seafood, best around that I have had. The service is top notch as well. Homey, not stuffy atmosphere, where the food is the star not the surroundings (though they are fine too).

We came back to Australia talking about this place! For us it was the ultimate 'American family dining' vibe. We loved its 'dagginess' from the moment we stepped in.
There may have been other seafood on the menu, however we were there for the crab, and had a choice of around a dozen different types of crab, all cooked without sauces to ensure you taste the fresh clean flavour of the crab. We had Alaskan King crab, which was HUGE and had a really great flavour.
The service was great, the wine/beer menu was good.
If we were in Pismo for a second night, I would have gone straight back there!
