Description: Rosa's Italian Restaurant in Pismo Beach, CA culminates 50 years of restaurant experience in regional Italian cuisine to create a family operated dining destination by the sea. The combination of Chef Doug MacMillan's Northern Italian cuisine apprenticeship with the Southern Italian family recipes he learned from his mother, Rosa, produces multiple award winning entrees with the freshest and finest quality ingredients. Classic and specialty Italian dishes such as Tortellini Con Quattro Formagio, Veal Piccata, and Pasta California will excite your taste buds and keep you returning time and time again. Our history begins with Rosa, whose journey to the Central Valley of California started in Avellino, Italy, located between Naples and the Mediterranean Sea. After moving to America and marrying Bill MacMillan, the two opened up their first restaurant in 1966. In 1988 when they moved the restaurant to Pismo Beach is when their son, Chef Doug, took over the kitchen. We are customer service oriented, and each of our dishes are made with the same care as if you were in our kitchen at home. In addition to a full menu for dine in a takeout, we offer a full bar with cocktails, beer, and an extensive wine list available to order by the glass and bottle. Our Happy Hour is Sunday through Thursday nights from 4PM - 6PM where we offer $2 off wells, cocktails, and drafts. Our professional staff is ready to welcome you. Come join us for fine Italian dining in a relaxed atmosphere and let us show you the tastes of Italy.

I had the swordfish special. It was grilled with a pesto sauce and came with pasta and grilled fresh baby eggplant, zucchini, sun dried tomato. Good wine selection.

This does not compare to Olive Garden, it is much better than a chain and has a local, authentic feel. It is priced more expensive than Olive Garden, as anything local would be. The atomosphere is beautiful with an enclosed outdoor patio with a fountain. The indoor dining room had white table cloths on the tables and a fireplace. All this and my family still felt comfortable in jeans and sweat pants. Our waiter was that of any 5 star restaurant. He was there to please and it was obvious due to the time he took with us. The fettucunni, tortelini, calzone and pizza were all fabulous. The portions were huge. This was a memorable dining experience for us.

Rosa's has a nice variety of Italian food and seafood. The food is good and always served hot. You get a nice basket of freshly baked bread. The lasagna is my favorite. The veal piccata is also delicious. The restaurant is very pleasant inside. There is an enclosed patio that is heated. The service is very good and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Enjoy :)

After seeing the reviews on yelp my fiance and I decided to give Rosa's a try. 10 minute wait which wasn't to bad. Atmosphere wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. We got our bread and water immediately after being seated but had to wait 15 minutes for a cup for our son. All the food looked great, I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo with a side salad and my fiance ordered tortellini which we were going to share with our 2 year old. The salad wasn't anything to brag about. Small portion but that's what you expect for a side salad. We got our food rather quickly and the portion size looked great but that was an illusion from them drowning the pasta in sauce. The tortellini was way to salty and the fettuccine Alfredo was average at best. Defenetly not what I was expecting for the price. We waited 20 minutes for our bill which was another surprise. The small side salad was 8$! And they charged 4$ for an extra plate fee which our son was asleep the whole time and didn't eat a bite. Overall olive garden blows this place out of the water as far as atmosphere, price, and portion size but hey...at least our bread was warn
