Before you are even seated, one almost expects the Rat Pack to be resurrected.... picture Dean Martin at the piano bar! Expect classic, timeless, old school decor. Dal Rae is a staple that has been around forever and it is no surprise why it is packed night after night after night.....
My go-to favorite is the Chilean Sea Bass, garlic mashed potatoes that is served with fresh, hot, right out of the oven garlic bread - however, no matter what you order, you will not be disappointed as EVERYTHING on the menu is mouth watering delicious. Expect to pay top dollar, but then again, you get what you pay for. I strongly suggest making reservations and even then, expect to wait for your table if arriving during peak dining hours. Great place for business power lunches, special occasion dinners or just because...... The Dal Rae is a must, not just for us locals, but for anyone visiting the LA area.

Been going for 20 years, and it's never a disappointment! The marinated crab and pepper steak are perfection! No one does those dishes better! We love the warmed spinach salad they do at the table, and the homemade Caesar's salad dressing is delicious. Very comfortable atmosphere and fair prices for their specialties. The service is always good, and they also have a piano bar and cocktail lounge where you can relax after dinner. The flambeed deserts are wonderful, and such a treat when they do them at the table. For lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong here!

I have tried almost everything on the menu with no bad choices/. If I had to pick only one meal, I would start with the marinated crab, have the hearts of romaine (the old way), pepper steak filet and the house special garlic bread. This place is a classic. None better anywhere!

Back even before I was born, in 1951 the first location of the Dal Rae opened. Seven years later it moved to its current location in Pico Rivera. The Dal Rae is about generations from the generation of patron’s whose parents first took them to the restaurant and continue to come for the experience to the generations of family ownership with the brothers Kevin and Lorin Smith, nephews of the restaurants founder, now continuing the impeccable tradition. The restaurant has recently been remodeled but the uniqueness of table side preparation of a Caesar Salad, Steak Diane, and various desserts continues. Also the legacy of fine dining is still intact with the entire staff taking great pride in serving only the highest quality products, including flying-in aged prime beef from the Midwest and using only the choicest fresh caught seafood from around the world. The menu also has some new entries like the Ahi Sashimi on Toast and fresh, sautéed Morro Bay abalone have become popular additions to the timeless menu. From the valet parking attendants, the host staff, the bartenders, the wait staff, the bus staff to the ownership all make you feel like you are truly welcome and that you count as a patron. Let me know forget to mention the Executive Chef Henry Christensen who ensures your meal to be something to remember. Make sure to stop by around Christmas time when the restaurant is decorated with a canopy of lights.

If you love an old school steak house, the Dal Rae is for you. My family has visited the Dal Rae for years and the Pepper Steak is my favorite thing on the menu. The atmosphere is comfortable and classic, and the service is impeccable. Long live the Dal Rae!
