I've eaten at 4th and Sea many times over the years, and it is one consistent restaurant. I find myself ordering the fish and chips, their nome de plume for good reason, again and again with coleslaw and garlic fries. The fish is perfect, flaky and white with a nice beer batter, the coleslaw is basic and none too mayonnaise-y, and the garlic fries are homestyle cut fries with generous amounts of rough cut garlic on them. We rarely eat there, but we usually wait inside and play trivial pursuit since they leave the games on the table. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired, so very much for takeout, often to a nearby park where we all wind up in fish and chips heaven, our stomachs swollen from eating, and our pocketbooks still very full since it's not pricey at all. It is a little slow since they cook everything from scratch and to order.
Also, their milk shakes are to die for.
This is a Petaluma fixture. If you don't eat here while in Petaluma, you haven't experienced the real Petaluma. Outdoor seating is nice if it's not windy or cold. I would recommend that.
