“Great place for the price & location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

Booked last minute when traveling around Sonoma; looked along CA-12, & all $$$, one of the wineries gave us brochure got here, we called & price was great! Savings was worth the few minutes extra drive. I thought the breakfast was slightly better than the typical free breakfasts from chains in that they had salsa, cheese & sour cream for condiments for the eggs, & nicer looking pastries than the usual places (did not taste them though) and nice big sausages.

Pool looked really nice and clean. Rooms were clean and good sized, shower had good pressure. When we checked in, guy at desk looked for a better room for us implying that we should be away from the highway, so that may be something you may want to inquire about.

Would recommend this place in a heart beat.

jrpower, thank you for your comments. I was especially happy about how you found us - a winery gave you a brochure and you called us up. Our sales person will be happy to know that working to establish relationships with businesses pay off in the long run.

We're happy you enjoyed your room and our breakfast. We look forward to seeing you again.

...if you like a clean, modern, comfortable place to stay.
Our only complaint would be there were only four coat hangers in the wardrobe for two people who were staying seven nights, however we asked if more were available and acquired a further four, so all good!!
The reception area was inviting with it's sofa's and newspapers and free computer access and printer useage. Breakfast was served here each day and again, we couldn't fault it. From juice and cereal to bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs (with pastries, toast, fruit, yoghurt and waffles if you wanted them too) to the helpful staff.
Close (2 minutes in the car) to Highway 101 but not close enough for traffic noise, and within 5 - 10 minutes walking to a 7/11 and several restaurants.
Really enjoyed our stay there, and would definitely book there again when in the area. :)

We arrived in the early evening on a Tuesday, but, without a reservation, we were able to get a nice room that was identified as a "special accessibility" room. We didn't need that feature, but the large, modified bathroom was very pleasant to have access to. The included breakfast was terrific, including the scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and waffles. This was our second stay here and it proved that the first visit a year ago wasn't a fluke. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The included WiFi, and flat screen TV, were also appreciated. The Inn is close to restaurants (IHOP, Applebee's). You are about a ten minute drive from downtown Petaluma, and have quick access to Hwy 101. We'll be back.

We stayed 3 nights in early September and found it to be a very comfortable experience. The breakfast is particularly notable as they've split the food items into different stations which eliminates crowding or a line and they have a dedicated employee keeping things stocked and the area clean - this means plenty of hot bacon and sausage and no confusion over how the waffle maker works.
Also, the rooms are comfortable with a microwave and frig. so the only drawback I can see, is that as others have commented, if you're expecting absolute quiet at night forget it - we were as close to the freeway as anybody and found it quite tolerable with only a slight humm which as urban folks we need to sleep. Note: Don't try to beat it by requesting a room farthest from the freeway unless the pool season is over as those rooms border the pool - which I imagine can get noisy during the pool season.

Room Tip: Don't try beating the freeway hum by requesting a room farthest from the freeway unless the pool...

We unfortunately only had one night at the Quality Inn Petaluma. It is a truly lovely hotel with excellent amenities. The pool is very nice with a very warm hot tub and a sauna. There is even an outdoor shower at the pool and clean bathrooms. Our kids had a great time playing in the pool while we relaxed in the hot tub. Ahhh......

The hotel room was on the smaller side but the beds were very comfortable, it smelled fresh and everything worked so we had no complaints. There was a nice new TV and a larger than usual fridge. It was quiet in an excellent location, close to the highway and lots of restaurants. We didn't notice any highway noise at all in our room.

The breakfast was good with a range of cereal, yoghurt, fruit and then also eggs, bacon and sausage with hot coffee, tea and juice. We left full and satisfied.

I can highly recommend this hotel.

This was a complete disaster lodging experience! Safe didn't work properly and was noisy until disabled. Refrigerator was noisy, dripping on the carpet and needed defrosting in the middle of the night. I asked for a quiet room and was given one by the freeway and freeway construction zone, but was assured it would be quiet. It wasn't! I was not provided the wireless password. The front desk clerk was as poor as could be when it came to customer service...seemed like I was checking into a prison...polite, but as cold as cold gets. You ask, why didn't I pick up the phone and call the front desk? Because...THE PHONE DIDN'T WORK EITHER, I was tired and just wanted some sleep! When I expressed my concerns early the next morning after almost no sleep whatsoever, I was told, gee that's too bad...the clerk is new and he will improve. No offer to adjust the bill, no offer of a different room, no offer to speak with a manager...NOTHING! I am a customer service professional and I could not describe a more classic case of poor customer service or not even any approach to providing any value or any attempt to meet customer expectations. I checked into the Metro Hotel in Petaluma and had a 5-star experience for the next 3 nights at a modest up-charge from the Quality room rates. A COMPLETE DISASTER THAT I TRIED TO REPORT TO CHOICE HOTELS ON THEIR WEBSITE...BUT GUESS WHAT? THE WEBSITE WASN'T WORKING EITHER! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: I don't know if any rooms are better. I would suggest staying elsewhere!

Dave S, thank you for your comments. All the employees associated with your situation were given your review to read and were surprised at your written comments. You did not give us a chance to correct the situation the evening you checked - in and when you checked out, you made the events that happened sound like they were not a nuisance to you. Our staff stands by our customer service, let us know when it happens, be straight with us not passive/aggressive and we will take care of the situation. In this instance your review said it louder and more direct than you did in-person at check-out. That being said, I admit that we need to train for the next level of customer service which is don’t act on just the obvious, go one step further and ask the guest face-to-face “How could we have made your stay better.” This simple phrase would rule out any mis-interpretation on both parties part.

We booked a one night stay in this hotel for the US Labor Day long weekend. The rate was scarily high at $200 a night, but we were happy with the stay.

The room was clean and comfortable with a mini fridge, hair dryer and the essential toiletries. The carpet was a bit old in the room though. We called ahead to request for a crib and it was all set up when we checked in. The front desk assistant was very friendly and informative.

The double beds were big and comfortable with 4 soft pillows on each bed. The room was roomy but the window was facing the parking lot, so not much of a view.

The hot breakfast was quite pleasing. It had cold boiled egg, bagel and a variety of muffins and sliced bread, fresh fruits, cereal, milk and juices. For hot items, it had scramble eggs, sausages, bacon, and self-served waffle station.

I heard that during non-peak travel season, this hotel's rate was only $100, that would be a much better value option.
