First of all, the service was fantastic, and the ambiance was very nice, although a bit loud because of the brick walls and tile floors.
The the food was a mix of tastles and okay. I gave it only two stars because the marinara sauce was terrible, and an Italian restaurant should be able to make a decent Bolognese. The sauce was runny, tastless, and orange instead of dark red. Looked and tasted like Campbell's tomato soup, but worse. They should have used Ragu!
Unfortunately, I had eggplant parmesan. It was two slices of eggplant dipped in flour and soggy fried, then put together with ricotta between layers and totally smothered in the awful marinara sauce. It tasted like it looked - like orange garbage. Oddly, the roasted potatoes and asparagus spears served with it were cooked perfectly. My friends had the salmon and veal, and both items were cooked fine, although a little bland.
The beet salad was very good. The COSTCO lemon sorbet and profiteroles were okay.
So if you eat here, you would probably have a good meal if you avoid the pasta, which is totally ridiculous for an Italian restaurant.
