This hotel is a lovely, contemporary hotel in a restored historic downtown building. Rooms are small but nicely decorated and very functional. A continental breakfast is included and it has a reasonable variety of cool breakfast foods. Staff is attentive and helpful. Parking is a bit of a challenge but there are a number of good options that the staff can explain to you. We found Petaluma to be convenient to the Sonoma Valley wine country.

Excellent location in center of Petaluma. Walk to restaurants and wine bars from Hotel Petaluma. Rooms are simple, clean and neat. Front desk was responsive and attentive. I loved the antique elevator.

Room tip: Half and half as a choice for coffee in the rooms

One of our favorite places to stay... and dog friendly, too! Friendly, accommodating staff in an old establishment that has been very nicely refurbished. Comfortable lobby with fireplace, wine tastings, in-building seafood restaurant. And the location is great for strolling around the old town. We go whenever we get the chance.

Hotel Petaluma was recommended by a friend as a good location for touring the wineries north of San Francisco. The hotel offers a charming ambience: spacious lobby with fireplace and pianos, courtyard, old-style (but fast!) elevator. The rooms are average-sized, quiet, and the beds very comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful. A seafood restaurant and wine-tasting room are adjacent to the lobby. The historic town of Petaluma itself also offers many shops and fine restaurants, all within walking distance of the hotel.

The Hotel was restored in the last few years and provided a wonderful location for the wedding reception we attended onsite. The accommodations were nice, staff was very helpful, and the amenities on site were very nice. Beautiful courtyard and the original elevator was very cool. If there was any concern, it would be the street parking - but there was plenty during the available hours.
