Stayed here because of going to a concert at the Mystic Theater which is a short walk away. The only thing I would change about this place is either having coffee in the room or just larger coffee available in the morning in the little cafe. Other than that everything was GREAT!

********** This place is very charming and has lots of character---it's a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location! Excellent value---definitely will return for a similar couples weekend and spend more time in the cafe and garden area. **********

Felt like home. Somebody else's home, but a home nevertheless.
Good for wine country visits as well as Point Reyes in the west.

If you're looking for a cute, funky, country-French style hotel, this is the place. The rooms are small but quaint, and the entire place is very much like an instant trip to the French countryside. The morning breakfast includes great coffee and sweet breads, but certainly isn't the typical American meat and eggs. So in short, if you're looking for a cookie-cutter, oversized, corporate American, everything is included chain hotel, this is definitely not the place. But if you're OK with small, minimally furnished rooms with lots of atmosphere and the basic amenities, this will feel like you've made an instantaneous trip to the French countryside. (minus the jet lag)

Room Tip: If you want a real diversion, ask about the tiny Airstream trailers parked outside in the courtyard.

The room was cute and comfortable, the cafe was easy to navigate and it was close to downtown where we went to a concert so could walk home easily. Having said that, they did not follow through with their Trip Advisor "special" of a free bottle of wine (they ran out but did not offer an alternative so we went and got our own across the street at Charlie's). Also, the front desk person could use some more training in expediting check-in. He was overly familiar with us and took way too long with the check-in process partially due to their having misplaced the room key. He was friendly though, as was the little girl who helped direct us to the front door, so that was nice. Cute place, if quirky, and the satellite radio on French station in the cafe was a nice touch as we grabbed coffee on our way out of town.

I stayed in Petaluma a few nights ago with my mom. We were passing through on a roadtrip. We found Metro online and then drove by to check it out- between their beautiful courtyards and adorable (not hoaky) decorations, we couldnt help but go in and check the prices. The price point was perfect, and the staff member, Jeff, even gave us a tour of the vacant rooms before we put down a credit card. Our bed was perfect and our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is just a few blocks from the center of downtown. I would recommend this place to anyone. Really special experience!!

If you like something a little different and not a chain feel this is a great spot to stay in Petaluma. Fun French feel, wonderful bedding, charming old building with nice gardens and outside sitting areas. Rooms are quite small but great for just a couple of nights. Friendly staff, walking distance to downtown area. Breakfast is minimal, coffee and poppy seed muffins both times I've stayed there but they have a fridge if you want to bring in your own goodies. Parking is around the back in a gravel lot.
