“Creamy Bre”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

Tasted so many cheeses! Just about 15 minutes outside of town w/ a big pond and grass to enjoy a wine/bread/cheese picnic! I bought two kinds and will be back again! Great service as well!

“BEEN VISITING FOR YEARS AND ALWAYS THE BEST”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Everytime we head to our family home in Inverness we take a minor detour to the CHEESE FACTORY, aka Marin French Cheese Company. I beautiful little shop, with tiny lake, picnic tables, good wines for pairings and incredibly friendly staff. A must visit to get your Point Reyes Blue and lots of others!

“Great cheese.”

Love their cheese. Many to choose from too! They also have a nice little park for relaxing while you munch.

“Wonderful gift shop and picnic spot”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We stumbled across the Marin French Cheese creamery and visitor center on our way to Point Reyes National Seashore. It is located on Petaluma-Point Reyes Station Road near the junction with Novato Boulevard in rural Petaluma, about 10 miles west of Novato and roughly the same distance east of Point Reyes. Part of a 700-acre dairy ranch, the creamery offers free tours of the cheese factory several times daily, and also has a very nice gift shop and public restrooms. Best of all, there is a lovely duck pond surrounded by trees and lawn that is equipped with picnic tables. We stopped there out of curiosity and discovered a wonderful gift shop with many excellent cheeses, made on-site as well as elsewhere, along with a variety of other packaged gourmet food products, kitchen goods, and cookbooks. They also sell prepared sandwiches, salads, and beverages, including wine and beer, that you can take out to the duck pond for a picnic or to an indoor table if it's too cold or rainy. We wish we had known about the picnic opportunity ahead of time so we could have planned our visit accordingly. We will definitely do this next time we're in the area.

“like brie?”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

About 9 miles out of Petaluma -- go west on D Street.
Nice little place. You can take a tour of the cheese-making facility. And you can sample cheeses in the shop. And, of course, you can buy the cheeses. Often there are "specials" -- I once got 12 half pound wheels for $20! (Shared them with friends, of course.)
And the cheese is good.
You can buy wines, soft drinks, breads, and other snacks. Then have a picnic on the grounds. A small pond/lake with ducks and geese, a lawn, and picnic tables.
Nice way to spend some time on your way to Tomales or Point Reyes.
