a "marsh" trail which follows the Petaluma River and gets you up close and personal with migrating birds such as swans and Canadian geese. an enjoyable stroll with a cup of coffee or a good "training trail" for runners.

Surrounding a set of ponds, this is a top birding spot in the Noth Bay, rich in wading birds, raptors, ducks, and more. Point Reyes Bird Observatory offices back the area. Check their outdoor sign for news of possible unusual species. If you want a 2 mile run or walk, the circuit is level and full of interesting sights.

Its a flat walk that takes you out into the wetlands around a pond. Moderate walk in 35 minutes just under 2 miles.. You runners can do your own calculations... Good for a lunch time walk or two laps to run

While it could be the time of year, I didn't see any birds other than a few seagulls and egrets. While it's an even, 2-mile path, I could barely breath for 1/3 of it due to the stench. This is either because of the sewage treatment project or the salt-water marsh at low tide, I couldn't tell. I like the section along the river, but the rest was pretty boring.
