Owner description: Since 1919, the exquisite beauty and unique challenges of Pebble Beach Golf Links have electrified golfers and spectators alike. Designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, the course hugs California’s rugged coastline, providing wide-open vistas, cliff-side fairways and sloping greens. Over the years, Pebble Beach Golf Links has been the site of golf’s most prestigious tournaments such as the annual AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and five U.S. Open Championships, including the 2010 U.S. Open. We are excited and honored to welcome back the U.S. Open to Pebble Beach for the sixth time in 2019!

“A round of golf worth playing”

The course, the challenge, the beauty. Pebble Beach is a must for any golfer. There is no doubt it is expensive but worth it.

“Worth the 17-Mile Drive”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Although I'm averse to paying to drive on what ought to be a public road, the 17-mile drive is worth the $10 fee. My wife and I lingered for hours along the beaches and outlooks, and ended our day with tea on the terrace of the Pebble Beach Lodge. We fully expected to pay a premium for a glorious hour in the sun overlooking the 18th hole, especially after we learned that a room with that view goes for $1000 night and a round of golf will set you back $500. When the bill came we each took a guess at the amount, both in the range of $25. The upshot was a shocking $8 tab, which with a generous tip came to the happiest tea break I can remember.

“Unbelievable views and golf”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

Pebble Beach is a golf factory with every tee time booked every day despite the expense. It is the chance of a lifetime to experience the views and play such a famous course. Pace of play is a little slow but that gave us time to take many photos along the way. The course is cart paths only or take a caddie so be prepared for a lot of walking. It is in perfect condition. The greens are small and well-protected by sand bunkers on all sides making it a real challenge. It is an experience an avid golfer should not miss. Staff at the course are very helpful and friendly. They are well-trained to provide a superior experience.

“The benefit of a caddie for first time players”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

I'd recommend using a caddie. I'm a 26 handicap and was 1 stroke under par after 3 holes until the wheels kind of fell off. Part of the reason I didn't do better was because I didn't pay enough attention to the caddies regarding yardage and wind issues. [That and the sand traps, but I'll get to that later]

The wind is tricky. Trust the yardage given to you, don't trust the yardage markers and your own impressio of the wind. You might flush one occassionally and be a little long, but that doesn't mean their yardage was wrong. Trust their putting lines.

Sand traps. Stay out of them! All of the green side bunkers have high fronts and getting up and down is a feat in itself. Same with fairway bunkers. Being pin high in regulation, but in a bunker is going to more likely result in a double bogey than a par.

Although the par 3's are short, they're not easy due to the greens and bunkers. Ten of us played a total of 40 par 3's on this course with only one birdie to be had and that was a 30' lucky putt.

If you stay within your game and listen to your caddie you can score well here.

Be advised there are no cart girls and limited food and beveridge at 9
