To be honest I hadnt played Spanish Bay in ages. Unfortunately I really roughed my way around the course but appreciated more than ever the layout and how well this course was manicured. We generally make spyglass a couple times a year but I think we will start including Spanish Bay in the mix again. After I got home the one course I wanted to go back and play (after lessons on hitting straight) is Spanish Bay. Great service, great experience, and great memories.

After playing Pebble Beach on Friday, it's unfair to Spanish Bay to say it's a lesser course. It is, but only because of the comparison. It is close to being a true links course, but not quite. But if you can deal with the distraction of deer crossing your line and the roar of the surf, plus the vistas, it's a sweet way to spend the day. Then a libation at Roy's. Perfect.

Best value of the trip! We were all very surprised how many holes are along the ocean. Fantastic course. Very close to top of the list for me.
