Perfect shape, but very difficult. Bring extra balls. : )

Best value of the trip! We were all very surprised how many holes are along the ocean. Fantastic course. Very close to top of the list for me.

It is always part of our visit to the area to get to the Lodge at Spanish Bay to sit by the fire pits and have a drink of some sort. A gorgeous view of the ocean that cannot be beat!

I found it more difficult than Spyglass, regardless of the rating. Beautiful course and great views. Kind of target golf in that if you miss the fairways you probably won't find your ball.

We recently visited and played Spanish Bay, Pebble Beach and Spyglass. Spanish Bay was the most formidable. You must hit straight shots as all of the areas surrounding the fairways are protected areas. You can't even enter to retrieve your ball. I have about a 22 handicap and quit keeping score after 10 holes. If had it to do over again, for the same amount of money, I would play Pebble Beach twice and forget the rest.
By the way, in CA you can just walk along any public golf course. Amazing but true.. So if you are just interested in the views on this course, just take a long walk.. Oh, and they do not even have their own driving range. You must go to Spyglass!!
