Heading back up I-5 to Nevada & we usually stop in Patterson at our favorite restaurant for lunch - however, this day they were holding a banquet & closed to the public. There are plenty of fast food restaurants in this location but we wanted a sit-down restaurant. We found a "Strings" but it didn't open til 12 noon & it was 11:40 & we'd been on the road for a while. A couple of doors down was El Rosal. We are picky about our Mexican food as my husband is Hispanic & we know really good Mexican & this was yummy! They had a lunch buffet for $7.95 per person. Instead, we chose the 2-item lunch special - I had a tostada & burrito while my other half had a burrito & tamale, both with beans & rice. This was a great lunch with excellent service, chips/salsa. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant a 5 is that the tortilla on the burrito turned hard after a few minutes, indicating it may have been heated in the microwave.
A true find - we will be back. So glad our other restaurant was having a banquet!
