We travel between So Cal and Nor Cal fairly often and look for new places to eat each time. This trip we picked Vic's Cafe and boy are we happy we did! The food was excellent and the service was quick and very friendly. There were lots of locals eating there as well, which is always a good sign. We had eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes - all of them were perfectly cooked and excellent. (It's nice to find a place that still makes real hash browns). Coffee is very good as well. A great place - we'll be back on our next trip.

Been around for 40 + years, can't go wrong here. Nothing fancy, a local hangout.

They do a great job with the Liver with onions and bacon, although you have to get a side of bacon as it doesn't come automatically with the dinner. It's REALLY hard to find a restaurant that serves it.

This is a family owned, down home, simple food restaurant. It's all basic food and they do a good job with it. Great, old fashioned, home cooking. Don't expect anything gourmet. It's like going to your aunt and uncles for dinner. They also have a lot of choices of fresh, home made pies.

This is not an imitation of an old fashioned diner but is the real thing. Good solid menu or all the usual good diner food. Fancier places to eat but this is the real deal.

Went for breakfast with family -- kids enjoyed the specials they had which are very reasonably priced with the right portion size (most restaurants stack up the french toast and most of it goes waste). Service was efficient with the waitress calling me "Hon" -- which got a giggle from my daughter:) I told her that in some parts of the US, it is normal to be addressed as "Honey" or "Hon". Overall, very reasonable tab for a decent quality breakfast with quick service. The cereal choices could have been healthier -- but most restaurants don't have them (my daughter likes some protein in her cereal so I bought her Special K protein plus -- which she had with milk). Also, it would be great if they could offer a fruit plate/fresh berries -- after all, this is Paso Robles!
