My wife and I decided to stay here to be in the center of Paso Robles so we could enjoy some wine with dinner and have a pleasant stroll. The hotel exceeded our expectations. We had a room in the old section with a jacuzzi on the deck, a very comfortable bed, and a peaceful setting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Whether you stay here or not, go there for breakfast! You'll get a wonderfully prepared huge breakfast for about $6.

We'll stay there again on our next trip to the wonderful wineries around Paso.

This is our second time to stay at this "historic hotel" and simply stay here for its convenient location during the wine festival.

This is not bad hotel if you are not planing to spend whole day at hotel.

We like to go to the local wine country in the search for the great ZIN, so this hotel is just a place to spend the night and ti wake up in the morning.

Next year we will be back but this time we might tray hotel cheval.

Decided to stay in Paso Robles on a whim - we cancelled planned accommodation in Santa Barbara due to poor weather!

We had a great stay.
Very pleasant & helpful staff, and the room was perfect (spa bath on balcony).

Great location, great pool & although we didn't eat here, the food & restaurant facilities looked good.

Pas Robles, despite being a first glance "small town", has plenty to keep you occupied for a day or two.
Good selection of eateries, close proximity to a number of excellent wineries, and friendly people.

Highly recommended.

We had the misfortune of being upgraded to a "spa" room (which was just a tub wih jets) in the Ballroom area. No one bothered to tell us that there was a fund raiser one night and wedding the next with music that made our rooms viabrate. Needless to say, there was no sleep until midnight and forget relaxing in that "spa". Front desk could have cared less...after all it was for a fund raiser. Common courtesy would be to let us know since we may have gone elsewhere for the $250 a night.

Restaurant was good and staff pleasant. Gardens are beautiful.

We had a lovely time at the Paso Robles inn. Great restaurant, nice bar. A great "jumping off place" for touring the central coast wineries. The breakfast is fresh and the service great. Ended up winding down with a nice soak in the Hot Tub overlooking the courtyard. Would stay again!

Bad experience! We were lucky to get a room as we booked last minute during a wine festival weekend, so we were willing to pay more than normal, BUT feel like we got a bad deal!! We were given an older room, 1 queen bed with a fireplace which turned out to be the only source of heat for the room. It worked well, so it was not a problem, but the room was very small--not enough room to even sit in front of the fireplace without hitting the bed. Bathroom was good size, but ceiling was literally coming apart-plaster cracking and flaking off. It appeared to have been that way for some time. The only thing that really bothered us was the walls were so thin, you could hear the folks in the next room very clearly, almost as if you were in the room with them. We've stayed in much less expensive hotels that weren't well sound proofed, but this was by far the worst case I've ever experienced.

To the hotel's credit when we checked out and told them of the problems we encountered during the stay, they took $50 off our total bill (it was still higher than the normal rack rate). Their reponse made us feel better about the experience, but would definitely not stay here again unless we were able to book a newer room.

We arrived for a Wine Event Weekend where the price was almost DOUBLE. The normal rate for room #303 was $105.00 but for the special event we paid $175. for a King bed in a tiny older room with funky heating system and ONE night stand. I had to put my reading glasses and water glass on the FLOOR!! Ridiculous. The sheets and mattress pad didn't fit well and kept slipping off so in the middle of the night, we were both sleeping on the mattress itself and the sheets were all bunched up around us. As much as we tried and tried to fit them back on the bed, within minutes they were off again. We are an older couple in our late 50's so we weren't moving around a lot in the bed, just sitting up watching TV and trying to sleep.
The King bed took up most of the wall and the other night stand was so huge it was up against the closet. The owners could manage 2 small night stands with just tops on them to put glasses and a beverage. The place was clean, the front desk personnel were very nice, and the location is perfect. We walked to wonderful restaurants and shops. We would NOT stay again for that price under those conditions, but would opt for another hotel with larger rooms and larger sheets.
