We came down on the train from Oakland. The hotel is an easy walk from the station. The location is good but not having a car is a problem in some respects because there is only one cab in town. We got special spa room romance package. The extras were great: nice fruit basket, dipped strawberries, robes, etc. The problem is that, for us, the ghastly smell of the sulfur spa water was a big turnoff. My mistake, I should have realized. The restaurant is mediocre for the area and expensive. My shrimp cocktail cost over $2 per shrimp (they were not big either) and they served it in a soup plate. Much better choices in town. They did give us a discount because the TV was broken even though they replaced it the last day. Nice garden and pool area.
