We took advantage of the February off-season rates to visit Paso and got a good recommendation for the Adelaide. It was the #4 place to stay at the time according to tripadvisor, and I booked the room for 3 nights despite seeing that La Quinta, my latest favorite chain, was rated #3. Good thing too -- the regional cutting horse competition had its HQ's at the LQ that weekend -- it would have been crowded. But while researching wineries, I saw that it was also "Paso Robles Hotel Month" and would get us 3 nights for the price of 2. tripadvisor didn't mention this, so I called the hotel directly and got the deal, plus a discount on the nightly rate.
The quiet room had plenty of space and the heater worked well (it got down to 26 at night) and was relatively quiet. The bathroom had two sinks, one conveniently next to the toilet. The hotel does need to upgrade their toilets (too short) and their TV's (tube, not panel), but all the added goodies (complimentary internet cable/wifi, voucher for complimentary winetasting and discounts, complimentary in-room coffee, muffins and newspapers) more than made up for these shortcomings. But it has its age working against it -- it needs a couple of upgrades to stay up with the newer places, such as the La Quinta just on the other side of 101 and farther away from the freeway.More
