“Courtyard by Marriott Paso Robles”
Reviewed October 20, 2011

We have stayed at this property previously on a couple of occasion. Each time, we have had a very pleasant experience. On this latest visit, we found the front desk staff to be very personable and willing to assist with our stay, including offering discount wine tasting cards for a large number of local wineries. The hotel in general is spacious, very clean, and the rooms are nicely updated. The property is ideally located just off Highway 101 at the south end of Paso Robles. It affords easy access to wineries either on the eastside of the westside. There is ample parking and the hotel bar offers a lively happy hour. If you find yourself traveling to or through Paso Robles, this is a wise choice for lodging.

Room Tip: Select a room on the top floor with a view of the hills.

This has to be the best Marriott Courtyard I have stayed in. It is only a couple of years old so it was built in the newer style - appealing front desk, lots of wood and granite in the public areas and rooms. It sits right along the 101 and is very convenient to the wineries and downtown Paso Robles. The front desk people were exceptionally helpful without being asked. They made dinner recommendations and suggested wineries to visit and other things to see in the area. They happily upgraded our room to a King suite which was very large. It had a separate bedroom with french doors, a large workspace area, a seating area, 2 flat screens, and a bar with sink and refrigerator. The only reason I don't give this property a 5 is the in unit A/C. Altough this one is newer and quieter than some, I still don't like the noise they make and the way the air blows. I would highly recommend this Courtyard.

We made a quick trip for two days of wine tasting and this hotel was comfortable and convenient. It's near the freeway but the windows have thick drapes and I didn't hear any traffic. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. For those with allergies, you can request a feather-free room, which I find a bonus. There's plenty of desk space if you need to use your computer. Bathroom was a good size, there were lots of little nooks to stow toiletries and other articles. We used a AAA discount and felt we were getting a great deal. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel is less than a mile from the main town square. We could have walked but it was a bit chilly out in the evening. We didn't explore the lobby bar or pool area in our short stay. Oh, and oddly, the door to the room was very heavy. Comically so.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor away from the elevator. Even though we could see the freeway, it was very...

My wife and I are world travelers and have stayed in many hotels. My son selected the Marriott Courtyard for his wedding party. For what you get, I thought this was not a great deal. There was nothing seriously wrong with the hotel: the rooms were very nice and the facility as well. The rooms were small, closet space was seriously compromised, and when I called to ask whether there was something in my room to buff my shoes before the wedding, they said no, but I could go to a leather shop in Paso Robles to pick up my own supplies. For a hotel that charges $240 plus a night for a room, that suggestion is not enough. There should have been better service for a customer staying a couple nights.

We stayed just one night and the room was very comfortable. No comp. breakfast, but overall we rested well and got a good night sleep. Sometimes that is not always possible away from home.

Have stayed here twice and was very happy with the staff and the quality of the rooms. Could not hear fwy traffic at all. Very nice rooms and comfortable clean beds. Close to wineries, Hearst Castle and the darling town of Cayucos. Staff was very nice, welcoming and efficient.

Room Tip: Clean,comfortable,well appointed rooms.

Be sure to request the side of the building opposite the freeway. The hotel is right on the freeway and the freeway side is noisy. The windows do not insulate the sound; you will need earplugs.

Otherwise a typical Courtyard.

Room Tip: Request the West side of the building opposite side of freeway otherwise you'll need earplugs
