Rather than driving non-stop to Los Angeles from San Francisco we decided to take an overnite break in Paso Robles. The La Bellasera seemed a bit pricey for a respite but it had such good reviews and it looked so much more interesting than the basic motel/hotels along Hwy 101 in Central California. Before you look for something that costs less stop and talk with the front desk staff. It was not pricey for the quality! We are seniors and AAA members. It was gorgeously comfortable, quiet, luxurious and so easy on the eyes. I can't say enough good things about it. We had dinner on-site (delicious) and returned to soft lights, turned-down beds, chocolates and Bill Evans playing at a just-right-decibel. Bedding toiletries and towels were of the finest quality. Treat yourselves and spend the night here. It's a treasure.

I'm bewildered by a couple of naysayers here. WE are very picky about our lodging. I want clean, beautifully-appointed, spacious rooms. My spouse wants inexpensive. A tough combo. La bellasera was exceptional on all counts. Our room was NOT small at all, as one reviewer noted. We had a decent sized living room with sofa, sink, wetbar, desk and flatscreen TV. The large bedroom, separated from the living room by shuttered sliding doors also had its own desk, plenty of places to hang our clothes, stow our luggage. The bedroom had its own flatscreen TV. Bed and linens were luxurious. The marble bath was lovely. This was an exceptional stay. I was thrilled that after being on a roadtrip for days, a clean, well-lit and efficient laundry room for guests was just around the corner and down the hall from our room (4th floor, I believe). Laundry soap was given to us from the front desk. Even the short drive into Paso Robles was not a big deal. Parking in PR is easy to find. Only drawback for us? We couldn't stay longer!

This hotel is 3 years old and in very good condition. The rooms are very large and come with a large whirlpool or fireplace. Rooms well appointed and quiet. We arrived late and dined in the Hotel's restaurant the Enoteca. It features local wines and the food was very good and reasonably priced. I would recommend this to anyone.

So we stayed here for 3 nights as our home base for some Vacation time doing some Wine tasting in the area.

Location. Beware. The California 46 intersects the 101 at 2 places. In Paso Robles
the 46 East and a few miles farther south. The 46 West. This hotel is south of town on the 46 West and the 101. After driving 500 miles in one day this didn`t help us find this hotel easily.

Checking in was easy and quick. But after the long drive was looking to get a drink at the bar. NO DICE. Huge wedding party had basically taken over the restaurant and bar. They were 6 deep to get a drink. So back in the car to drive a couple miles and get dinner and a cocktail.

This is a newer hotel and its very nice on the outside and inside. But the rooms are VERY small. We got one with a kitchenette. Nice with all we needed to heat up leftovers and store our drinks and some wine. But that bedroom is maybe 10x12 feet. Very tight.
The whole room was maybe 700 Square. Nice fireplace and small sitting area outside.
We were on the first floor.

Bed was a little soft for me but the room was VERY quiet. Even with the bar a couple rooms down. Still no problem with noise.

One negative was the Tap Water. Make sure you have Bottled Water for Coffee or cooking. The Tap Water here smelled and tasted very poorly.

I would stay here again. But dont be surprised if its packed or if there is a wedding you
may be a little put off with the service in the restaurant/bar.

After checking reviews of hotels in Paso Robles I decided to give LaBellasera a go as a nice place to stay for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. The room was clean, the bathroom was very nice with a great shower, the bed was very comfortable, and it was quiet.
We were fortunate enough to stay in a deluxe room with a spa in it and it was wonderful. I dare say it was nicer than the place we stayed in South Lake Tahoe last year when I proposed to my wife, plus it is quite a bit less expensive, too.
We will be coming back to La Bellasera in the future, it is just a matter of time.

I have had the opportunity to stay at this hotel whenever I am in town, and do it only because of the phenomenal service that is provided by Jeremy. He knows everything about this hotel. He is obviously passionate about his customer service. He is also very organized and professional. I have had the opportunity of being assisted by him at the front desk as well as through bell service. His knowledge of this hotel, and his dedication to customer service is truly what it takes for keeping customers satisfied. Has he been considered for management yet? He is a perfect role model for what it takes to keep people like myself and colleagues willing to return and stay at La Bellasera. This is a beautiful hotel, but, if it weren't for Jeremy and his obvious skill-set, my colleagues might consider going somewhere else. When we are out-of-town conducting business, we want to know that we can still feel at home with our accommodations. Thank you to Jeremy, we feel at home each time.

I have to be the voice of descent here. We have stayed here twice, mostly because there just aren't that many nice options and Hotel Cheval is overpriced. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, I will give them that. However, my overall impression of the place is a Disney version of a pseudo-Tuscan wine country inn that has little bit of midwestern chain motel thrown in for good measure. The staff are always quite courteous, but often not that well informed or trained. The one elevator is super slow. The fake columns and cheesy painted murals in the rooms do not help. The bathrooms on the other hand are very comfortable and well-appointed. Having two flat-screens is nice, as is the computer in the room. It all just feels cheap and slightly tacky though. Finally, the fitness center is a tiny room with a few pieces of equipment in it similar to what you might find in a Hampton Inn. Actually, the Hampton Inn in Fairbanks, Alaska has a far superior one.

The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is the excellent bed and I'm recommending it because it is still much better than most options in the area.
