We have stayed at this boutique hotel before while visiting with friends in Paso Robles, but we must have been asleep at the wheel not to notice some of the major flaws in this property. While it appears nice from the outside, beware of the beast within. These rooms are NOISY!! Located right next to the 101 Fwy, the noise from the freeway is minor compared to the interior buzz that is constantly bombarding your room. Poor design has resulted in a ventilation system that continually runs through the building, turns your AC on every 10 minutes despite the 34 degree outside temperature and has two refridgerators that constantly buzz, added to fireplace glass doors that rattle like a train is passing outside your room. I am a very sound sleeper and couldn't believe the noise! We unplugged the useless frosted over fridge, but couldn't reach the plug to mini bar. The washcloth between the fireplace glass stopped that rattle, but a 4:30 AM in the morning, we seriously thought of just packing up and getting out of there. There is one small elevator for the entire 4 story hotel, so plan to wait a LONG time and share the ride with one of their housekeeping carts, which for some odd reason was being moved between floors when we arrived late in the afternoon. The once pristine waterfall in the front entrance now smells like a dirty fish tank and is in desparate need of maintenance. I could go on about the outrageously over priced restaurant, the poor parking availability and overall poor upkeep of this once nice hotel, but other reviews will describe all that. If you have to stay in the area, you'll want to consider another hotel...or just stay in nearby San Luis Obispo.

We stayed at this hotel during part of a road trip along the coast of California starting in San Diego. My friends and I stayed in the the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite which had a "full" kitchen. It was nice to be able to cook dinner and breakfast as we have been on the road for a couple of days. The room was comfy. Do not judge the hotel by the outside. It is so much nicer on the inside. They even had the lobby decorated for Christmas when we stayed. We did not get to see much of Paso Robles as we arrived later than expected. But next time my husband and I will try to stay in downtown Paso Robles.

Passing through from Monterey to Paso Robles en route to San Diego, we didn't know if we really wanted to stay at La Bellasera. The front desk lady made our decision easy. First, she said she wouldn't charge us if we couldn't stay, but she'd show us a couple rooms and give us an upgrade. With no pressure to stay, we were more inclined to look around. The lobby is lovely and festive, just off the restaurant and outside patio. The wine vault promised tastings and hors d-oeuvres that night (which never materialized because of the rainy weather and few guests). Our suite had a terrific whirlpool bath in it and doors to separate the main room from the king size bedroom. The amenities were top grade. All in all, we were so comfortable there that we stayed the night and went wherever we were directed by the front desk. It makes all the difference.

Stayed there with friends for a weekend of wine tasting. The hotel is pretty central to everything. Easy to get to from the freeway. After lunch my friend and I checked in. My friend and I booked at the same time with the same deal, but she was offered an upgrade. That was very poor customer service at the front desk. That's the reason I'm only giving it 4 stars. Otherwise nice rooms, nice restaurant.

We had the most expensive suite a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom one that was $546.00 per nite, plus a 10% tax and a $10.00 additional tax. Two nites came to a little over $1300.00. The room was nice but the in room internet didn't have a keyboard, (I mentioned it after 1/2 an hour but it never showed up) the sparkling wine that was a "gift" in the room was pretty undrinkable, and the workout facility was 4 machines, 1 treadmill and 3 bikes. Our bedroom was larger that the fitness center.
On the plus side, (and there was a plus side) the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. From the concierge to the from desk everyone was pleasant and accommodating.

I have stayed at La Bellasera more than any other hotels in Paso Robles. I recommended this hotel to my wedding guests and most of them stayed here and they liked it as well. The place is great, they have a nice outdoor pool / sauna and they have a whirlpool/fire place inside the rooms. It is nice but I feel the murals in the rooms are little bit cheesy. But the beds are comfy and the staff is great! They also have a good restaurant.

La Bellasera offers nicely appointed rooms, with comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms and a nice sitting room. The front desk staff, especially Heidi, were very knowledgeable about local wineries and restaurants and gave excellent recommendations. We enjoyed our stay very much. Only downside was when we requested our room to be serviced while we were out for about two hours, it was not done, nor was it done when we left for another two hours later in the evening.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room facing away from the highway.
