What a refreshing change! Lovely Southwest decor, very comfortable beds, and fantastic breakfasts! The courtyard is wonderful for having breakfast, or for sitting by the fire with wine in the evening. Even though they are outside the center of town, its a quick drive to many restaurants, and getting to wineries during the day was a breeze.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Hopi room - if you are a late sleeper, this might not be the best, as you are right...

Wild Coyote totally exceeded our expectations. The owners helped with our reservation and warmly welcomed us to the property. Our room was spacious, the bed really comfortable and every amenity was readily at hand. Wine tasting with owner, Gianni, and Sean was fun and informative. Spectacular is the only word that describes watching a morning sunrise from our private patio, coupled with a terrific breakfast made by Kati. May well be our best B & B stay anywhere!

I will try to be as fair as possible in this review, however first impressions last a lifetime. My husband and I made reservations for my birthday a month in advance. We called the day of our arrival, to find out that they LOST our reservation, and were over booked. I was so disappointed by their mistake. Although Sean was very apologetic and found an alternative place to stay for us, it was not what we were expecting. We felt we were treated like stepchildren. We clearly made reservations far in advance, but we were the only couple to be asked to stay somewhere else. It’s unfortunate that we will not patronize this place because of the way we were treated. Thanks for the birthday treatment!

Dear rubidoe,
We feel that you are taking this matter to personal and are being very defensive, when this was simply a case of over booking.
I apologized endlessly and spent 2 hours finding another location that we felt would be just as good as what we can offer you and within your budget, as well as re arranged your tours and offered you a personal concierge to schedule any other appointments or dinner reservations you needed to have made.
I did everything that I could to make up for the mistake that we made.
We did not pawn you off like "stepchildren" as you referred to it; we did what was fair, the last one to book was the first one we had to take care of and find another B&B for.
I did not know it was your "Birthday Weekend" and honestly, in the past 8 years of owning and operating our B&B, I have never over booked.
Unfortunately, these situations do come up and I feel that we handled it the best that we could.
As a peace offering, I also offered you 2 complimentary bottles of wine, as well as complimentary wine tasting for your whole tour group that I re arranged to you pick up at the new B&B we found for you.
We do hope that you understand and would love to have you stop by our tasting room next time you are in the area for a complimentary tasting and hopefully we can re-establish a relationship with you for future visits.

What a wonderful place to stay - romantic, quiet, peaceful. We had booked a three day stay and loved it there so much we ended up staying a fourth day. The casita was picturesque and very comfortable. Sitting out on the private patio attached to the room was heavenly.Breakfast-delightful! Most of our activities involved going to wineries in the area and the majority open between 10 and 11 am, breakfast was brought to our room at 8:30 so we were able to sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast and take our time getting ready to go exploring!

Room Tip: There are only 5 rooms and I believe they are all pretty much the same. We had the room on the end...

I can't talk enough about this place. Yeah, i know - should have written the review a little sooner - but this allows me to relive the great visit we had at Wild Coyote. Even the approach to the property was nice - driving up through the gates. You immediately felt the peacefulness and the native american and santa fe influence. It was pretty quiet and we were welcomed by Gianni - the owner. His kindness and down to earth appreciation for life came through immediately. Here was a man who was living his passion and it showed. As I said it was quiet and the first thing he did was move us to a room that would be even a little more peaceful. The rooms and property were decorated w/ art made by him and his wife. We did not want to leave - just enjoy the peacefulness of the property - take pictures, read, write and of course drink wine. We did go into town one day to pick up some cheese (hey you need cheese right?) and snacks for dinner. One day we did the wine tasting as well - was good to hear from someone so knowledgable and into what they do. While my wife enjoys red - I have now become a convert as well - no "wimpy whites" as the sign says. Raising the glass to your lips - you can smell the difference and the taste - wow so full of body. Of course we had to buy and bring home some - hmmm almost gone - perhaps we need another road trip! Gianni said that we needed to taste w/ Sean as he made it more fun but we enjoyed his company - there were a few others that came and went at the tasting. Watching the fog and having the breakfast each morning made for a very special stay. We did meet Sean one morning at our breakfast and yes you can tell he likes to laugh - we will have to spend more time here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Navajo room. All rooms have a great view. If possible take a room further away fr...

Extremely comfortable and attractive B&B. Breakfast was quite good too. A small quibble: in our room, the bathroom sink is not situated in the most practical position; it's tucked in a corner, but it looks good. The views are amazing. The concierge/manager whose name might be Sean, is terrific. He recommended restaurants and wineries which were all very very satisfying experiences. We highly recommend his input if you do not know Paso Robles.

I'm a little late writing this review, we stayed at the Wild Coyote in October 2011. The husband and I took a weekend away from the kiddies and found the Wild Coyote the perfect place to do just that. I love the feeling of the place and the obvious care the owners and staff take to make it a pleasant place to be. Breakfast was delicious and I was excited that there were means of making different hot drinks in the room, plus wine glasses!
Sean, the tasting room guy was hilarious, kind and knowledgeable, and the tasting room filled with pleasant people, and the wine is delicious!

My only two criticisms are:
- the bathroom was a little weird. The sink was at an awkward angle, there is no door, only a curtain (ok, I'm kind of squeamish about that kind of thing...), and the lighting was bad.
- At the cost of the place, I would have thought the wine "tasting" would be included each night one stays there. The tasting room was a pleasant place to hang out before dinner and I wasn't aware of being able to purchase wine by the glass. So tasting menu it was for our second night, but you get charged. Maybe this is something that could be reconsidered?

Thank you for making this a wonderful trip!

Hi there CarolaB.
Thank you for taking the time and writing your review. We love to hear the feedback. It’s lovely to hear that you and your husband had a nice and relaxing get away and that you enjoyed your time with us!! =0)
Per your suggestion about the wine tasting Im sure that if you popped in the second day that Sean would have taken good care of you and let you taste again at no cost, Also we try to avoid wine by the glass because we like to keep you and your wallet happy! it is $10 p/glass and if you buy two glasses that’s $20. When it is much more affordable to buy a bottle and then you end up with two extra glasses in the end ;0)
We hope you keep us in mind for your next visit to Paso Robles, and if you come with a group (6 or less) we also have our 3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom (with doors and better angled sinks) =) vacation house rental called our House of Zin. It overlooks our 5 acres of Zinfandel and is beautiful!
Cheers!
