The good: my husband and I went for lunch about a week or so ago when they first opened for lunch. Tried three of the mixed drinks and they were delicious. I had the ribs, which were tasty but over-priced for what you got. My husband had the empanadas which were excellent. Told our friends about the place and decided to go back for happy hour the following week on our regular night out.
The bad: Went back for happy hour drinks and tapas and brought friends. We arrived about 5:30 pm and were told we could not be seated at one of the tables because they were for "dinner." So, all six of us end up lined up seated at the bar. I asked the bar staff about the happy hour menu, they told us that happy hour was over and that it lasted from 4 to 5 pm. Then they said they would check with the manager, and it turned out to be from 4 to 6 pm. Ordered empanadas and beef kabobs, got shrimp kabobs we didn't order and were charged the dinner price for them. Ordered a drink I had tried at lunch and it was nowhere near as good, like something had been omitted. Finally, despite all of the staff behind the bar, did not feel welcome. After our drinks and appetizers, we went to Villa Creek and were made to feel welcome, greeted by name, and received great food, drinks, and service. The next day, our friends who are also locals indicated they would not be returning to La Cosecha anytime soon due the their experience there. They were, however, very enthusiastic about Villa Creek.
The future: Will go back to La Cosecha for another try at some point. We realize they just opened and are ironing out the kinks. The food is good and the drinks were excellent when made correctly. Would recommend some additional staff training and an area to seat groups dropping in for drinks and tapas if they are going to call themselves a "bar + restaurant" We have high hopes for the place because it's a wonderful location and venue. Third times the charm?
