We've gone to Bistro Laurent in Paso Robles for a few years for lunch and love it. We went in July this year and even though the temperature in Paso Robles was 104, we still ate on the patio as we had our dog with us. We had to tie him to the railing, on the outside, but that was fine. We ordered three appetizers and each was so delicious that when we returned a week later, we ordered them again. At first, the waitress was a bit unfriendly but we talked and she warmed up. We drove to Paso Robles from Los Osos via Route 46; what a beautiful drive - the hills, views to the ocean and then the vineyards! I highly recommend having lunch at this restaurant.

We came here for dinner in 2007 and the service was so snotty that it wiped out all memory of the food. We didn't come back till 2012 and then for lunch which we have now had twice. Lunch seating is in and outside (dogs OK for some tables outside), service, menu and food are pleasant but nothing to drool over. Noise level 0/5 outside. We are local. Maybe we'll try dinner again when I am willing to take a chance to be nastified.

While visiting this town our hotel highly recommended this restaurant. Big mistake! The minute we walked in, the pompous host looked at us in horror or dismay since we didn't have reservations and we had children (well-mannered, mind you). The restaurant was 80% EMPTY and he said he simply could NOT seat us, even in the empty patio. Really? Worst service ever, we are avid travelers and rarely do we witness this condescending unprofessional attitude from a business. We ended up at Estrella down the street--What a difference!!! We were greeted by the owner here and they gave us a table immediately when it was almost full. He even talked to us for a few minutes. Beware of this snooty French bistro, little do they know who they rudely turned away. Avoid it!
