I'd stayed in Paso before but couldn't remember the name of the hotel I'd stayed at...while searching online for it, I came across The Oaks. I started reading up on this place and couldn't believe how many great reviews there were. Then I checked the prices and thought, okay, this place costs about half the price of the other place I was looking for - all these reviewers are just cheap people getting a good bargain but I booked anyway because how much time does one spend in the hotel room in wine country? It's at least a new hotel, SO close to downtown Paso and at such a great price.

From the minute I arrived, the front desk was so accommodating and helpful. My boyfriend had forgotten his phone charger and the staff went way above and beyond to find him one, even if it meant asking the kitchen staff to retrieve their personal charger from their car. Really, such nice people at this place. The hotel location is great...just off the 46 East but more importantly, very close to all the great restaurants in downtown. The hotel is very clean and modern and even has chargers for electric cars. I don't even have an electric car but was surprised this hotel had them.

Also, you get complimentary breakfast at this place and it's not that typical cheap hotel breakfast where they put out stale pastries. This was a full-fledged breakfast buffet including waffles and an omelet bar. I looked forward to breakfast every day I was there.

I have been ranting and raving about this place to everyone I know. This will definitely be my go-to place to stay in Paso. I loved this place and will be back for sure!

There are many nice hotels in Paso Robles, but we are very happy you decided to give us a try. I am glad to hear your boyfriend was able to get a charger for his phone. We try to treat every guest as another family member in our home. Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such a positive review. We look forward to your next visit.

We booked this hotel based upon the reviews and were not disappointed. Everything was newer and clean and the staff was very nice. It is not far from the downtown area either, which was a minor concern initially.
The included breakfast was decent and a nice perk.

The room overall was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that the bed was WAY too hard. It was almost like sleeping on the floor.

Room Tip: Make sure you do not get the room next to the elevators. They backed up to our bed and made it tough to fall asleep.

Thank you for your sincere review of your stay. I am happy you were satisfied for the most part, but am sorry you were not happy with the bed as well as the noise you had to endure from the elevator. All of our beds are equipped with the higher quality Euro Top mattress. Thank you for bringing these two matters to our attention, we will check the rooms around the elevators.

We simply can't say enough positive things about this property. Originally we picked it because of the GREAT reviews and because it had EV hook up for our all-electric vehicle.
The owners of this hotel, Phillip and Mary, built it from the ground up a year or two ago.
They, understandably, take immense pride in running it. The two of them lead the enthusiastic staff by example and work has hard as anyone we have ever met at a hotel to make your stay enjoyable and memorable.
For us, there is simply NO question where we will stay on our next visit to Paso Robles.... it's The Oaks.... for SURE!!!

Thank you for your review. It is testimonies like yours which is bringing more EV enthusiast to our hotel because we are ideally situated halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. In response, we have increased the number of charging stations to accommodate the demand. We look forward to welcoming you back along with the many other travellers looking for a mid-way EV charging station.

Peacefully quiet. Newer digs along 101 & 24th. All the right overnight offerings at a reasonable rate. There is a small bar and dining room where "Indulge" provides a mouth watering dinner menu $$ and an excellent buffet breakfast. Laundry on site. Pool and spa so-so. Friendly staff. Really great rooms with attention to comfort and home-away-from home provisions. Downtown is rather torn up & busy while infrastructure is rebuilt due to wine country growth, making The Oaks location a good one. We almost passed this up due to surrounding area but all was good and we felt secure.

I am glad you were able to utilize some of our amenities and had a comfortable stay. Chef Cheryl has created some new and tasty menu offerings to go along with some of the exquisite local wines. We hope to see you soon on your next visit.

We stayed here during a weekend trip to Paso to taste wine and visit family. This relatively new hotel is very nice. Everything is clean and more on par with what you'd find in SF or Chicago (at least the rooms). The staff was friendly, parking plentiful (and free unlike SF or Chicago), and they have a restaurant on site for dinner and the included breakfast in the morning. Probably the only downside is that the train tracks are a couple of hundred feet away. One train rumbled through town late that evening, but didn't do a My Cousin Vinny number by blowing their horn. If you sleep with two pillows, you'll never know it came by. This is a common problem with almost all of the hotels in Paso unless you stay at one of the more pricey B&B's outside of town. If really quiet piece is what you want, try the Wild Coyote - outstanding B&B and interesting winery). But if you prefer to be in town closer to the restaurants and night life, this is probably one of the best available according to locals.

Give it a try and use the AAA discount to make it a better deal. Cheers!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am glad your stay was pleasant overall. The train is another way for visitors to get to Paso Robles. We hope our purposely built double walls in the rooms help reduce any outside noises including noises the train makes going by. We look forward to seeing you in the near future.
