Owner description: In 1973, Gary Eberle began his career in the wine industry by heading his family's Estrella River Winery (currently 360 Degrees in Paso Robles) and produced 500,000 cases a year at its facility. Eberle's pioneering spirit didn't stop there. In 1980, he co-founded the Paso Robles Appellation and in 1983, Gary opened the doors to his own Eberle Winery with the premiere of Eberle's 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Eberle handcrafts 25,000 cases of wine each year from surrounding Estate vineyards. And, after more than 33 years since the release of the Eberle label, the winery consistently remains one of the highest award-winning wineries in the United States. The German name "Eberle" translates to "small boar." At Eberle Winery, a bronze boar greets every guest who visits the Tasting Room. The statue is the 93rd replica of the original bronze Porcellino cast by Tacca in 1620. And today, the original can be found in the straw market in Florence, Italy. It is considered good luck to rub the boar's nose and toss a coin in the water below. Guest enjoy complimentary wine tasting and cave tours daily. Reservations for VIP Tour & Tasting, groups of 8 or more guests or reserve tastings please contact in advance.

“Friendly staff and great wine”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

On my first visit to Eberle, it was 115 in Paso Robles and the power had just failed. Undaunted, the Eberle team kept a great attitude and an old style credit card machine at the ready, providing a great time and a great tasting under challenging circumstances. I left with a case of wine and great respect.

“Eberle is always a great all around experience”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We have visited the Eberle tasting room at least 10 times over the years and it is always a consistently great experience. It is what tasting was before California became "Napafied." The staff are knowledgeable, friendly (often funny), and pay attention to what you like, which leads to a few extra tastes of what they happen to have open, focused on your preferences. The wines are simply lovely, and the owner and winemaker are not afraid to try things that are a little unorthodox, generally with lovely results. The setting is peaceful and bucolic. Leave enough time to buy a glass of wine and sit outside after you taste. Spiky the cat was a bonus this time - what is better than watching late afternoon light play over the vineyards, with a glass of zin and a random cat on your lap?

“Be Sure to Tour the Caves”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

The 2010 Côtes-du-Rôbles Blanc is a star in the making...The 2010 Eberle Zinfandel - Steinbeck & Wine-Bush Vineyard is sublime. P.S. The view from the tasting room deck is breathtaking.
