Owner description: In 1973, Gary Eberle began his career in the wine industry by heading his family's Estrella River Winery (currently 360 Degrees in Paso Robles) and produced 500,000 cases a year at its facility. Eberle's pioneering spirit didn't stop there. In 1980, he co-founded the Paso Robles Appellation and in 1983, Gary opened the doors to his own Eberle Winery with the premiere of Eberle's 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Eberle handcrafts 25,000 cases of wine each year from surrounding Estate vineyards. And, after more than 33 years since the release of the Eberle label, the winery consistently remains one of the highest award-winning wineries in the United States. The German name "Eberle" translates to "small boar." At Eberle Winery, a bronze boar greets every guest who visits the Tasting Room. The statue is the 93rd replica of the original bronze Porcellino cast by Tacca in 1620. And today, the original can be found in the straw market in Florence, Italy. It is considered good luck to rub the boar's nose and toss a coin in the water below. Guest enjoy complimentary wine tasting and cave tours daily. Reservations for VIP Tour & Tasting, groups of 8 or more guests or reserve tastings please contact in advance.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

If you are in the area, Eberle is a DO NOT MISS! Take the free tour (or pay for the VIP tour if you like) and hear how the wine is made from picking the grapes to bottling. They'll take you down to the 'caves' where the wine is stored in barrels. The wine was all good. This was the only winery I have visited that I want to join the wine club - because all the wine is great!

“Open late and free”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

Beautiful winery and artwork on the property. We arrived at about 4:45 but they are open until 6 on week days which is great. The tasting was complimentary and you got to chose 5 wines to try. Everything was great, but I was not blown away by the wine. All in all a stop to make.

“Great find!”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Many years ago, we tried Eberle Winery and found them to be a bit snobbish. Perhaps we visited on an off day, but whatever the reason have stayed away until now. We decided to give them another try and had a totally different experience. The staff is extremely friendly, and we really enjoyed the wines. You might be greeted by the two winery dogs .... black standard poodles named Cabernet and Rousanne. We did not have time to take the wine cave tour but hope to do that on a future visit.

“Wine caves a must”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

Great wines in a wonderful tasting room. The tour of the wine caves is breathtaking and I cannot wait to reserve a table for our next stay.
