Owner description: Since 1917, the historical San Antonio Winery has been the heart of wine making and wine culture in Los Angeles. It is the last producing winery in Los Angeles and continues to hand craft wines from estate vineyards in Napa Valley, Monterey, Paso Robles, and many viticultural areas throughout California. As the last of more than 100 wineries which once spread throughout Los Angeles, San Antonio produces countless award winning wines and is one of the last wineries owned and operated for four generations by the family who founded it.The Riboli Family traces its wine producing roots to Lombardia, Italy, where founder Santo Cambianica learned to make simple table wines for his family and friends. Once he immigrated to the US, Santo established himself and his new winery in Lincoln Heights, which at that time was the home to many first-generation Italian immigrants. With hard work, determination, and good faith, Santo’s business survived the Prohibition Act by producing sacramental wines for churches and local parishes of Los Angeles County. Nearly every winery in Los Angeles failed during that time, resulting in an explosion of fresh opportunity for Santo. As the wine industry of California moved from Southern to Central and Northern California in the mid 1900’s, Santo and his nephew Stefano Riboli had no intention of leaving their new home in LA. Without this decision, an integral part of LA’s cultural renaissance would have been lost. While Santo and Stefano lived and developed their business in Los Angeles, they kept their focus on the burgeoning wine regions in the North and over time acquired vineyard properties in some of the most prestigious areas. This relationship between growing in the North and producing in the South is a true source of pride for the Winery and the Riboli Family.

Located on 46 East, this is a nice place to stop. Open daily from 10:00am to 6:00pm there is a complementary tasting of 3 wines of your choice and an option to taste 4 of their reserve wines for $12. There was a fair sized selection of whites and reds. We tried some of there reds and I was impressed by the quality for the price. The tasting room was a nice size. San Antonio Vineyards is part of a fairly large portfolio of wine labels and the reserve wines came from their Riboli label grown in Napa. They have tasting rooms in Los Angles, Ontario, CA, and Paso Robles. This Paso location is definitely a nice little place to stop.

Tons of great tasting wines. We bought a cheese plate and the server suggested which cheese was best for the wine she was pouring. Lots of fun!! With all the wineries in the area, it's hard to choose but make this one of them.

San Antonio Winery....this is place that goes back years in my family. I was so happy to see they had opened a tasting room here on the Ca. Central Coast. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable and such a lovely gift shop.

San Antonio Winery has my favorite wines hands down! I always get Stella Rosa Collection of wines are the best with my MUST buys YEAR ROUND are: Stella Rosa Imperiale Brachetto D'Acqui(bubbly Italian sparkling red & smooth) & Stella Rosa Berry (simply pink & bubbly sweet refreshing). Love the workers here too, they are very friendly and have come to know me! I live just down the road, so an easy place to pop in and pick up my cold bottle of wine to serve that day! The Tasting room is very easy to get to, easy in & out and on and off the main road of Hwy 46 East. It a very eye pleasing inside & out! Highly recommend the Stella Berry to anyone who is like me and not a huge wine drinker due to the dryness or bite. There are several other wonderful wines, like Stella Rosa Peach, Pink or Orange Mascato that are tasty too, ALL are served chilled. Love this Winery & Stella Rosa Berry & Brachetto D'Acqui!

You won't be disappointed by this great place alongside Hwy 46East. Ditto the comments about Mindy, she did a great job. This was our last stop on a rainy Sunday. Had we known about the great variety of wines, the great staff, and superb gift shop, we might not have bothered with several of the other wineries. If you like sparkling semi-sweet wines, dry wines, traditional Italian varieties, etc., then you must visit. Mindy is an engaging conversationalist, and the wines are mighty-fine too! VERY inexpensive as they don't use the gimmickery of wine clubs. Low overhead means they pass the savings along to us - their customers. They also sell grappa, and desert wines. GO HERE IF YOU ARE IN PASO!
