“Beautiful Wine Tasting Weekend”
Reviewed August 28, 2007

Just returned from Orchard Hill Farm B&B and wanted to recommend this place as a top notch B&B. Proprietors, Debbie & Doug, were the perfect hosts. Their breakfasts were great, their property was meticulously maintained and beautiful, and you can't beat the rooms. They have three rooms and since we were traveling with two other couples, this worked out perfectly. The rooms looked like designers had decorated them. Debbie and Doug know the area very well and can recommend sights, wineries and restaurants. We were attending the Justin gala and Justin winery recommended this B&B and we were not disappointed. We highly recommend that you reserve a weekend or more at this bed and breakfast. We already have ours reservations reserved for next year.

One of the most quaint and serene B&B's ever! Gorgeous hilltop property with spectacular views. Gracious and knowledgable proprietors (Debbie and Doug Thomsen) are willing to make your stay a very pleasant one. A delicious, homemade, gourmet breakfast starts the day. There were no disappointments here! This fabulous place is a must in in the Paso Robles area!

If you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful and romantic place to stay with views of rolling hills and vineyards, look no further. The Orchard Hill Farm B&B is truly the most wonderful place to stay if visiting wine country.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Orchard Hill Farm B&B to celebrate our anniversary and it was a magnificent experience. I am not usually a big B&B person and was initially a little nervous about the whole experience, but I could not have been happier with our stay there. Our host, Deborah, was a master at being helpful and providing wonderful service, while at the same time allowing us to feel like we were the only ones on the property. From the second we saw the B&B perched up on the top of the hill we knew we had made a wise choice in staying there. We love going wine tasting and have visited Napa, Santa Ynez and Temecula several times, but this is the first time we actually felt like we were in wine country. We spent our late afternoons sitting on our balcony sipping wine, listening to the waterfall-like sound of the wind rustling through the trees and our evenings staring up at the star filled sky and taking in the peacefulness of the property. I had done extensive research on all the B&Bs and hotels in the area before making our reservation, so I was fairly hopeful that the Orchard Hill would be nice, but it surpassed all my expectations. And my husband who never makes a fuss about anything, could not stop saying how much he loved the Orchard Hill B&B.

We stayed in the Countryside Room, which was decorated beautifully and had an incredibly relaxing feel. And the B&B itself...WOW, is all I can say. Even our wine tour driver showed up a half hour early just so he could take in the view. It is really that beautiful.

The breakfasts were also outstanding. Unlike others who have stayed there, we ate with the other couples outside in the garden. The food was absolutely delicious and the whole ambiance was wonderful, from the music playing in the background to the beautiful garden setting. The whole experience could not have been better. There is no better place to stay In Paso Robles!

Orchard Hill Farm is one of the most beautiful and most pleasant bed and breakfasts I have ever seen, much less ever stayed in. It's situated on a hillside overlooking the Paso Robles wine country, with gorgeous views of nearby vineyards and farms from the building's three balconies. The "inn" itself consists of only two rooms, both extremely well appointed, located on the second story of a carriage house and connected by a spacious living room and full kitchen. The building is very spacious, and very private, and two couples would have the entire bed and breakfast to themselves, which is delightful.

Breakfast is generously portioned and delicious, but most importantly it's delivered to the carriage house kitchen each morning in large baskets and can be eaten whenever and wherever the guests prefer. It's only a short drive to nearby wineries, to the coast at San Simeon, and to downtown Paso Robles and Templeton. The innkeepers are also delightful people; they arranged for us to get discounts at local wineries and generally catered to our every need. All in all, this bed and breakfast is an absolutely superb place to stay and highly recommended.

Orchard Hill Farm B&B is truly wonderful! Driving up to the property you realize that you will be instantly relaxed staying there. The view is breathtaking, the grounds are well maintained and expansive. My husband and I stayed in their new room which is located in the main residence. The decor was very well done and felt very rich yet cozy. I loved the King sized bed with it's "french wrap" bedding. Deborah is the quintessential host and she will provide you with great recommendations on wineries and restaurants. She and her husband, Doug, went the extra mile when my husband came down with a stomach virus during our stay--offering up medication, ginger ale, and anything else that might make him feel better. The breakfasts were yummy and consisted of fresh ingredients. A bottle of wine from a local winery was in our room each day and Deborah will provide a picnic basket with all of the necessities for a day out tasting and picnicking.

I can't wait to visit again!

I'm not usually one to write a review, however, my experience at the Orchard Hill Farm B&B was so great that I needed to chime in and give credit where credit is due.

My husband and I stayed here in June as an anniversary weekend getaway. We had never stayed at a B&B before and were a bit weary about perhaps not having enough privacy. Quite the contrary! The hosts Debbie and Doug were very thoughtful and assured that each couple had a unique experience with plenty of privacy.

We stayed in the new room off of the main house---it was very large and extremely comfortable. We had a large bathroom and good-sized private deck where we sipped on the complimentary wine that was left in our room upon check-in. Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, we too were provided with a picnic basket. Deb thought of everything! She even lent us lawn chairs when we went to see a concert in the park and made sure we stopped at all the great wineries.

About the food--simply delicious. Home-cooked gourmet breakfasts, need I say more? Each couple had their own table for two in different sections of the main property and service was impeccable.

The rooms do not have tv's, so be prepared if you're glued to your set like I am. It was an adjustment at first, but eventually I adjusted (the wine helps:)) and had a wonderful time.

In short, this B&B is great for anyone who is looking to have a quiet, romantic vacation. You'll get great food, a great room, plenty of privacy, and two very thoughtful and warm-hearted hosts that will think of all the details for you.
