“Feels like home”

I absolutely love Rio Seco! It's a family run winery and guest cottage run by Tom (a former Major League baseball scout), Carole, and their family...including all the dogs and cats. They treat you like family, offering superior hospitality and good, reasonably priced wine.
Oh, and during the summer, they host special events out on the lawn. Their barbecue is dynamite!
If you are ever in the area, stop in. You won't regret it!

“Small scale family winery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

Rustic charm and family run. A host of stories to tell, and all the time to tell them. Good, if not great wines and a pleasurable experience, made all the better by a genuine charming 3 generations of family.

“Loved this winery best of all!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

My husband visited Rio Seco on a very hot late afternoon. We were greeted by cheerful Carol who spent time explaining the wines we were tasting and about their winery. She never rushed us through our tastings. We loved the Clubhouse Red and the Zinfindel so purchased and had them send a couple weeks later when it cooled down. Excellent recommendation by Carol by the way.
We visited a number of wineries that day and found that Rio Seco was the friendliest and had the best wine.
We will be back!!!!

“Nice, well-priced reds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2012

We visited at about 1pm on a Thursday. This is a small-production winery with a basic tasting facility. Our server was quite friendly and very knowledgeable. We noted that some of their reds, while priced at or around $20, were just as good as more expensive ones we tasted on the same trip. Seems to be a family-run operation. We understand that they also have a recently-opened guest house, i.e., vacation rental, on the premises. We purchased 2 bottles and were not charged for tasting. We plan to follow this winery -- seems like an up-and-comer.
