We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Valdemosa. We were looking for a nice pet-friendly B&B, and this was so much more. It's perched on a hill nestled in amongst the wineries. It has stunning almost 360 degree vineyard & mountain views and is about 15-20 minutes from downtown Paso. Tom, the owner and executive chef, was a delight. We were greeted with a nice glass of wine upon arrival. The breakfast was great- including a egg casserole made with dried herbs from his garden. That morning we enjoyed coffee out on the veranda as our dog lounged at our feet. The coffee was so good that I think between the two of us, my husband and I had twelve cups. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and the bathrooms completely updated. Great ambience.

We came from Germany and found Villa Valdemosa by chance.
We would never have expected that a B+B would be so
exceptionally beautiful and comfortable.
Situated in the country side (reminding us to the Tuscany)
with a wonderful view of the adjacent vineyards it is a
quiet and restful holyday place.
The villa and the rooms (in Tuscan style) are arranged with
extraordinary good taste and are very elegant and comfortable.
Dinner and breakfast had been prepared and served by the
innkeeper Tom in person – breathtaking taste again.
The welcome hors d´oeuvres by the fireplace were delicious.
We enjoyed our one night stay and will come back again
and recommend this romantic place “Villa Valdemosa”!

We had a wonderful time at Villa Valdemosa celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Tom, the owner, was helpful, entertaining, kind, a great cook, and lots of fun. We were welcomed in so warmly and we felt like one of the family. He guided us (on the map) down a beautiful drive to the wineries in the area. I highly recommend staying here for a relaxing, homey stay in the beautiful wine country of Paso Robles, CA.

Clearly our best weekend in living memory thanks to Tom at Villa Valdemosa, our spunky host, who made everything both fun and relaxing. He was generous with information about the Paso Robles area, such as where to dine, the best sights to see, directions, local events, and the art of wine making—(which he also makes as a private label). After living it up and painting the town red in the City Park area of downtown on the night of the Vine Street Festival, we spent the rest of the night back at Villa Valdemosa over a night cap (compliments of Tom) and laughter that carried us past midnight under a multitude of stars that blanketed the horizon as seen from the back porch. The feelings of good cheer we left behind keep swirling in my memory only to make me go back at the next opportunity.
We were assigned to one of five bedrooms--appropriately called the “Petit Syrah.” It was clean in a Tuscan-style house with fresh crisp sheets on a queen-size bed, plenty of closet space, and views to mountainous terrain that were reminiscent of Tuscany itself. Gratefully, there was no TV, so we could enjoy getting away from that technology, too. Parking was easy next to a circular driveway with a Roman fountain planted in the middle. From the main road, we ascended a private drive lined with olive trees and lavendar bushes to reach Villa Valdemosa. The top of the hill overlooks hundreds of acres of nearby vineyards and ranches, and then the view continues beyond that to several mountain ranges for a 180-degree sweep. This is big sky country. In fact, every room of this B&B is treated to this type of view, even our bathroom!
Upon waking up in the morning, our host already had hot coffee waiting for us, and shortly afterward we indulged in a breakfast soufflé in front of a warm hearth on one side of us and that magnificent view on the other behind closed windows because it was too windy to sit out on the veranda that morning. Just before we left, we visiting Villa Valdemosa’s “barrel room” where Tom was fermenting his wine. It smelled heavenly. Hope to return for the wine tasting event he is sure to have. Paso Robles is one of our favorite getaway towns because there is always a festival or winery event going on. In fact, we’re already thinking New Year’s Eve will be a good next time to return to Villa Valdemosa because Tom is planning a musical event and party we don’t want to miss.

I really wanted this place to be great. My husband and I often use trip advisor's reviews to decide on lodging when we travel, and this is the first time that I can honestly say that I felt mislead by others' reviews! We booked Valdemosa for two nights for my birthday weekend, expecting a luxury B&B for the price that we were being charged. Upon being told that there was limited room availability (granted we booked the same day we were arriving), we booked the Petit Syrah suite. Upon arriving to the Villa (which has a beautiful view and is located in a very tranquil setting), we realized that we were the only guests staying at the villa. Tom, the very kind and interesting owner/manager, ushered us to our room before joining us for wine and hor d'oeurvres. The room was a huge dissapointment. Felt like were staying in an oddly decorated guestroom in an estranged grandparent's house. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and very squeaky; needless to say we had difficulty sleeping that night. The next morning, we found ourselves whispering to each other to avoid somehow "bothering" Tom. Although Tom did nothing in particular that would warrant the feeling we should be using our "inside voices", we just felt very strange about being in his home. Overall, the place just had a very stange vibe and we did not feel comfortable staying there. We almost felt as though we were intruding in the owner's home, and it was difficult to relax. Additionally, there was no oppurtunity to make a special breakfast request, causing me to wonder what someone with dietary restrictions would have done if they were just served breakfast without being asked about their needs. I am very sorry to say that this place did not meet luxury standards, as we were expecting much more.

Villa Valdemosa turned out to be an awesome choice for my parents 50th Anniversary. From the moment we saw it on the beautiful hillside as we drove up, I knew it was a wonderful choice for my parents to stay and celebrate. As the inkeeper/executive chef, Tom was a fantastic host. He was very gracious and he took very good care of my parents during their stay. He shared his knowledge of wine making and entertained our parents with his guitar (as he is a classical guitar player as well). The B&B sits atop a hill in the middle of some of the best wineries in the area, with great views and a great ambiance! Not only will my parents be back, but so will I, as well as my siblings.
