“Too busy and wines only ok”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

This place is extremely popular and as such is a total zoo. The tasting room felt more like a party with people jostling for space at the wine bar and little attention from staff. Wine was only ok. The good thing is they have food which is welcome in Paso. Also heard they are expanding which may solve the space issue.

“staff great”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

They are a big producer. They have a few nice wines. Nice room. Have crackers at the bar. Staff really friendly. Only thing I did not like was still charged for tasting even though we bought wine. I like their wines so will go back.

“Came for the wine, stayed for the people”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We aren't wine experts but we've developed a knowledge of what we like and Opolo makes it. the Montagne-Mare was great (now out of stock) as was the Sangiovase (out of stock). The hint here is if you visit and like something, buy it because it will be ...(out of stock) when you go back. Yes, very market oriented especially on weekends or in tourist season, they are trying to make a living, not just talk to wine snobs. Wine experience was very good, nice sales ladies/ servers. Jeff Faber, the sales manager, talked with us a bit, and arranged a nice tasting. They push the wine club, and the nic-naks, but most wineries do anymore. Has wood fired pizza on weekends to nibble on. Nice drive, nice country, worth the detour from US 101.

“Wonderful wines and people”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Opolo is nestled in the most beautiful countryside. Its wines are absolutely wonderful-well worth the trip. We had the wood-fired pizzas on the patio with a glass of Mountain Zin. In the tasting room, Roger was our server and we loved the wines and the service so much that joined their wine club.

“Overpriced wine and a fee”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

The days of the good Mountain Zin are gone. You need to try harder. I buy at least a bottle at every tasting room I visit . I believe it only right, but you changed me more for the wine then if would have paid at the grocery store and charged a tasting fee.
Your winery still looks like a fruit stand. Your people don't seem happy any more.
Sorry, I'm an X-wine club member and will remain one until you get it together.
