Ann and George's Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #21 of 30 Paso Robles B&B and Inns
Reviewed June 22, 2009

We were seeking something with beauty and serenity. We found Ann & George, what an amazing time we had. The view was stunning, and the charm of our hosts was something we shall not forget. It's such a special place where Ann and George welcomed us into their home and shared their stories and experiences. We had everything we could have hoped for, right down to a fresh wine & cheese platter waiting for us in our room upon arrival. Breakfast was fantastic. We hope that we can get back there very soon to this special place and these special people.

My husband and I stayed at Ann & George's while in Paso for a couple of days during a trip from our home in Arizona to southern Oregon. I'd have to say that this is one of the best bed & breakfast experiences we have ever had! The location is marvelous -- tucked away on the west side of the Paso Robles valley on a hilltop with lovely vineyard views -- and their home and gardens are lovely. This is one of those bed and breakfasts where you stay in the owners' house, but you don't feel like you are intruding at all. There is the perfect balance of seclusion and inclusion, thanks to Ann and George's skillful hosting. We stayed in the guest room (there is also a separate dorm room, which we didn't see), which is at the front of the house with its own separate outside entrance. It is quite spacious, and includes a small sitting room, which has wine, cheese and fruit waiting for you when you arrive. You can take those around to the back patio and enjoy them as you enjoy the view, which I highly recommend. Ann & George also provide coupons for tastings at some of the local wineries, and can provide excellent restaurant recommendations. We ate dinner at McPhee's in Templeton and LOVED it!

The breakfasts are heaven in of themselves. Wonderful coffee, juice, fruit, eggs, sausage and french toast, served at their dining room table (I gather they will serve it on the table on the back patio when the weather permits), with George as the main breakfast chef. We had the privilege of sharing our breakfast not only with Ann and George, but with their granddaughter and her friends who came up from college just for breakfast! It was fantastic...and we felt right at home with the family. We literally had to tear ourselves away from the breakfast table when it was time to get on the road again.

Although we were there for less than 24 hours, Ann and George felt like family when we left. We can't wait to go back to Paso Robles, and we'll bringing friends next time to stay with us at Ann and George's. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else!

There are no negatives here.

Summarized experience:
~winding road up a hill to a beautiful home...with amazing views.
~greeted with smiles and hospitality
-wine cheese and fruit outdoors with beautiful views of their vineyard
- given complimentary coupons to local wine tasting and very helpful information in response to our questions about Paso Robles.
~ Ann and George made us feel their house was our house....we could use anything in the house at our leisure... including a fire pit on the deck...
- water bottles ready for us to take.

It was so great we almost didn't want to leave to go wine tasting...but we forced ourselves...

~After our return...more wine, cheese, and crackers placed in our room!
- Comfy, clean rooms and bathroom for our use
- George cooks a yummy breakfast which we all enjoyed!

BONUS:
* Before we got there Ann emailed us all the info we asked for (restaurants, wineries, tours, etc)...
* After we left, Ann emailed us pictures she took of us with the amazing views and she also emailed that we forgot our game in our room.
* She was so gracious, she mailed us the game right away...

That's what I call full service and hospitality! You won't regret staying here and you will look forward to going back one day!

I can't possibly say enough about how wonderful our stay was at George & Ann's B&B. They are incredibly nice people, have a new and beautiful home, provide an AMAZING breakfast, have wonderful views of the stars and vineyards, etc. I will stay here on every trip to Paso.

Ann & George's B&B is that rare find - excpetional in every way, including the fact that you get so much for such a reasonable price!! It is a haven, with truly breathtaking big-vista views, delightful hosts who know the exact right balance between being engaging and service-minded and giving a person plenty of space to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and peace & quiet. The room was beautifully appointed - they have thought of everything to make it comfortable (even providing those little things that can be forgotten in packing), and delicious, generous cheese and fruit plate to start the stay (including some yummy local wine too!). I felt pampered without being crowded, and Ann and George are wonderful conversationalists who have the knack of making you feel like you've always beenn old friends. It just doesn't get better than this. It was my first time staying in Paso, and altho I know there are many other places to choose from, it's always going to be Ann& George's for me - I know a great deal when I experience it! (this will also be the place I bring friends who come visiting to this region!)

I took my parents who were visiting me from the East Coast. Ann & George were the most incredible hosts. A bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and other snacks were waiting for us in the room when we arrived. The patio has the most magnificent views of the winery. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. The breakfasts were better than any five star restaurant and Ann & George were so kind as to accomodate my special diet. It was very hard to leave and to say good bye as Ann & George had become like family after our two night stay. I highly recommend the B&B and will definitely be back.

Our stay began with a gorgeous trip through vineyards to the top of the hill where we met Ann and George, whose company you could not help but enjoy. Their home is private and secluded with wonderful views. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and accommodating with a bottle of wine, fruit, and other tasty treats awaiting you upon arrival. Our days started with a breakfast you won't find any better anywhere, followed by wine tasting at local vineyards that all like knowing you are from Ann and George's. But, the best part of our stay was the feeling of being at home and enjoying time spent with special people. You will not want to leave!
