I booked the Presidential suite for a birthday celebration. It was old and musty smelling. The furniture was all worn and tattered and stained. It was like a Munster House! The outdoor table for dining was actually split and unraveling down the middle. The "cabana" lounges were shredded. The "view " was of rooftops in a driveway. I refused this room and looked at 4 other suites and cottages- all were smelly, dark and disgusting. Finally wound up in a regular room with a tiny shower and filthy carpeting and gnats flying around the room. What a gross experience! Would NEVER return here!!

Room Tip: Don't bother!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, and we apologize for the disappointment which you experienced with your accommodations. Our 2-story Presidential Suite, which overlooks the expansive Horseshoe Garden, is one of the final pieces of our full guestroom refresh which we will be completing before year-end, replacing all carpeting, paint, drapery and more, along with our cottages and all guestrooms. We truly apologize for the issues which you noted and can assure you that these are all being addressed immediately and fully. In light of these extensive improvements, we hope you will consider visiting us again so we may have a chance to show you a flawless stay.

My husband and I were struggling finding a place to stay for a few nights for our 20th wedding anniversary. Due to some family issues we are not able to be more than an hours drive from home in LA in case we have to rush home. Finding the ideal spot proved difficult and then I remembered a friends post on FB raving about the hotel!! I made reservations immediately on line thru the Hotel.
I can not express the amazing stay we had at the Langham. We stayed in the club level and it was AMAZING!!! The room was beautiful and we planned to eat out all around Pasadena.....that didn't happen...from the moment we met Eva in the club lounge we had found our home and the most delightful woman! Eva went above and beyond to be sure we were taken care of. The restaurants in the Hotel were fantastic!!! The VERY best prawns and Lobster Bisque EVER in the formal dining room!!
To wrap up our story we have already booked a 3 night stay at the Hotel in December to kick off our holiday season! Can't wait to see Eva again and catch up!!!
We are forever in your debt....this hotel was beyond!!!!! Thank You!!!!

I spent 2 nights at the Langham on a business trip this week and felt so spoiled!
The grounds are stunning, all of the staff were friendly and helpful.
The rooms were very well appointed - they thought of everything! Big, lush bath sheets; nespresso machine for morning coffee, turn down service at night.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a historic Landmark with a long history and only a hotel operation with very high standards should operate it. We stay in the Langham in Hong Kong and London so we are used to the extraordinary experience. Pasadena was no different.

If you took over an old Ritz Carlton and never brought it up to date but instead just let it decline and languish.... you'd end up with the Langham Huntington.

It actually turned out to be kind of fun to try looking for carpets that weren't stained, furniture whose paint wasn't peeling off, walls which weren't nicked, etc. It's really challenging but you can find them if you look hard and long enough.

Service in the Terrace restaurant was almost overtly curt. And during a lunch hour when the restaurant wasn't terribly busy.

This is a sad, run down property that would really really like you to think otherwise.

A perfect fit for a mid-range sales team meeting or, if they're offering a deal, a cheap overnight for a business trip.

But you shouldn't pay much, and you wouldn't want to stay long.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, and we are disappointed to hear that your visit was not up to par. We are in fact undergoing a major refresh of the entire property, replacing all carpeting, paint, drapery, bedding and more in all guestrooms, public spaces and corridors, as well as adding new in-room amenities, all in addition to a number of previous maintenance, upgrade and renovation projects undertaken in the past several years. We hope our continued efforts will fully correct any issues which you may have noticed, as well as ensure this historic property remains a jewel of Pasadena for years to come. I do apologize for the lapse in service which you experienced at The Terrace, and will be addressing this with our manager and staff there immediately. We hope you will consider visiting us again as these upgrades complete by early 2018, so we may have a chance to show you a flawless stay.
