My husband and I wanted a little overnight getaway. The Huntington Botanical Gardens and Library (Home of Pinkie and Blue Boy and the most incredible bonsai and succulent gardens) was our destination. But where to stay to make it a truly relaxing trip as well as affordable? The hotels around seemed either crowded around main highways or in the city. And then there was the Langham Huntington....built early 1900's with extensive renovations...romantic and turbulent ownership history. It wouldn't have been affordable except for the Endless Summer Package. Valet and incredible breakfast on terrace thrown in deal. Gorgeous grounds, heated pool, original ballrooms. Crisp sheets, old world furnishings, well appointed marble baths, thick terry robes. Your choice of rooms with either a view of the San Gabriel Mountains and sunrise or the sunset and Pasadena city lights. WONDERFUL experience. Try it.

I needed a local hotel for some out of town clients and putting them at the Langham was a great choice. The rooms have everything you need and are larger than other hotels in the area. The grounds of the hotel are out of this world, from the pool to the spa to the bars and restaurants it was all 5 star. You have to remember that this hotel was built in the early 1900's so the elevators are a little slow and not always near the rooms but what a get away. If you need to stay in the general area this should be your first choice. Clean, quiet ,relaxing and great service what else could you ask for in a hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you request a room that faces south, the lawn view is great and very, very quiet.

Exceptional service, rooms, food and facilities. I was here on business and would return for business, leisure or a romantic break away. The concierge was wonderful, the staff incredibly welcoming and helpful, the food was wonderful in each of the restaurants and the gym and spa were a welcome sight and top quality. Definitely worth staying in, even if it is a few extra km's from LA.

Room Tip: Request a View of mountains

The grounds of this hotel are very well maintained. Valet parking service is efficient and fast maybe because I always left in the early am.

I think the layout of the hotel is a bit disorienting especially for a first time visitor. This is because the elevators to the rooms are not close to reception.

The room is spacious and quiet, particularly overlooking the lanai. The décor is more on the traditional side, definitely not your W hotel trendy type of place.

All in all is a very comfortable hotel to unwind after a busy working day in downtown LA, which is only about 15-20 minutes away (when there is not much traffic!)

We were on vacation and visiting some colleges in L.A. last week. The staff was friendly and it is located in a nice, quite neighborhood. We enjoy the usual Universal and Disney parks, about half hours driving, which in L.A. seems to be normal...I'd stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relax vacation.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip. The grounds and the hotel itself are beautiful and well kept. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with all the things you need in a room: tv, air-con, tea and coffee maker, mini bar, fully equipped bathroom. The bathroom was huge and had a real luxurious feel to it due to the marble-effect decor.

The food at this hotel was gorgeous and the service exceptional. The pool is lovely to relax around too, with attentive staff on hand to take orders for drinks and any lunch or snacks you would want.
