This hotel is beautiful and the customer service is insane. Old wold luxury. Hotel property is so beautiful and nice to walk around and enjoy. Enjoyed a "parent's night out" and enjoyed every moment. Food is good, I wished a little more. Top of the line. Beautiful.....

We've stayed at this property five times over the last year. I've been in every size room available but we try to stay in the club level when it's available. It's worth the price and the view is great. The staff in the club lounge is top notch. The rest of the hotel staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The valet is 5 star. We normally try to stay in the best possible hotel when travelling and this one measures up to any other. The only exception could possibly be the pool area. A little small for a resort this size, but still quite nice. Keep an eye out for the ducks that like to take a dip every now and then! The spa looks great. I haven't tried any services through them. There is a nice variety of fitness equipment and it is well maintained. Be sure to rent a bike and take a ride through the neighborhood.

What a joy to experience luxury!
This hotel's staff and ambience made me feel like a princess.
My room was simply elegant. The bed was scrumptious.
Service was amazing from each and every person on the hotel staff.

Wonderful hotel. Stayed on the club level which was out of theis world. Staff was there to fulfill any request that I had. Spent 5 nights and would go back anytime that I have a chance.
Food on the club level was wonderful. The beverage service was always available and served with a smile and your first name.

I stayed here for 3 nights for a professional conference. Our organization came here 2 years ago and I have great memories (kinda older but great conference facilities, great service and was looking forward to returning) Well, my standards must be evolving. The last few years I have been staying in many more mid-level hotels than fancy ones but this Langham can't compare. The good: customer service was excellent- fast and courteous valets, smiling and greeting staff in the hallways, excellent staff in the conference, great front desk staff, best bell staff ever. Great location in a residential neighborhood but close to civilization down the hill and beautiful grounds. Yummy food- especially the pastries and tea we had for the conference. The bad: forced valet for overnight guests for $25. It was so difficult to find outlets in the room. Finally found a loose, really unsafe-looking outlet behind a lounge chair. At mid level places- I love those outlets in the base of lamps for cell phone chargers/ laptops. My boyfriend pulled the sheets back too hard and exposed the mattress- stained. There was a great menu for room service but the prices were threw the roof + $6 delivery charge and 20% tip. I expect to pay more for room service and higher prices are expected at this level of hotel but another $6 is ridiculous. A $5 Denny's breakfast was about $36 after all the extra charges. Maybe I'm getting cheap and spoiled by the places I've been staying with free parking, breakfast included, clean rooms and designed for business people in this century but what really ruined my view of this hotel was the barking dogs I heard from my room. Disclaimer: I don't hate dogs, some dogs travel well but most dogs I know forget they are potty trained when they are in new surroundings. I was so confused because I don't think I have ever been in a hotel room, let alone a fancy, expensive hotel room and heard yapping, barking dogs. So I ask the front desk- and the entire hotel is dog friendly. I think it is reasonable to have one building or one floor where they can all bark together, the fleas can congregate, the carpet has been ruined, but the entire hotel? There is no way these hardworking housekeepers can get under every bed where the dogs run around. It just changed my whole view of the hotel and the value of what is costs to stay there.

Dear MelanieandDarrell,

Thank you for your feedback. It brings us great pleasure that you appreciated our customer service, location and food quality. Regarding your pricing concerns for valet parking and room service, the only parking option that the hotel offers is valet parking due to limited spaces available on property. This charge is very clearly stated on our website and on the confirmation letter that each guest receives prior to check-in. Our in-room dining includes a delivery fee and service charge due to the extra staffing requirements for delivery and the expansive nature of the 23-acre property. These are standard charges at many hotels and we do offer an alternative option for breakfast, lunch and dinner at our Terrace restaurant.

It is important to us that every guest have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing, peaceful stay at The Langham. We apologize that you were disturbed by noise from dogs in a nearby room, and that our service team did not proactively detect and mitigate the noise issue. In such instances, we appreciate it when guests call the front desk to report any disturbance so we can send management to the room in question to properly address the situation.

The hotel has been pet-friendly for a number of years and it is a common practice among luxury hotels to allow dogs. Pets are allowed in guest rooms and common areas, but not in our restaurants, on restaurant patios or near any food preparation areas (service dogs are allowed by law). We prefer to limit pets to first floor rooms, whenever possible, and they are not allowed on our 8th floor Club level, our 6th floor of the main building or our 3rd floor of the Lanai building. Every room that has been occupied by a pet receives a special deep cleaning to remove pet dander. We can accommodate guests who are allergic to pet dander by placing them in a room that has not previously been occupied by a pet.

We appreciate your feedback and we hope you will stay with us again in the future.

Sincerely,
The Langham Huntington, Pasadena

The hotel is very large for a 5 star (a former Ritz) but tries hard to provide that level of service. The location in the best neighborhood in Pasadena is both beautiful and quiet. Take a walk and admire the 1900 era mansions. The room was comfortable and quiet with excellent housekeeping. Because of the size of the hotel it takes a bit of an army to check people in and out and get the cars parked and ready. It is ideal for weddings or corporate events with the number of reception rooms and the gardens. Also good for children with a nice pool area and for tennis players.

Pros: Huge and beautiful property with quiet rooms, good service and exceptional location. Close to old Pasadena and downtown Pasadena with shuttle service to both.

Cons: Dated bathroom with Walmart quality toilette. Chairs should have been reupholstered 20 years ago. Expect to pay $25 per night for valet parking which cannot easily be avoided. Wifi worked but at check-out they tried to charge me for free wifi until I objected. Make sure you have GPS to find it. The breakfast area was a bit over-run in the morning.

Overall: Would recommend but not a 5 star without some further upgrades and probably just too big, too family oriented and too commercial event driven to offer 5 start service and ambiance. Still a do again.

Room Tip: Higher floors away from the lobby, or if with children around the pool area.

The Langham is a beautiful and elegant hotel furnished sumptuously and from the moment you drive up to the entrance you are met by efficient and courteous staff who provide valet parking. Check in into the beautiful reception was warm and friendly with our luggage being delivered to the room very quickly by a member of staff who explained how everything worked in our room which was on the 5th floor and very quiet with a stunning view. Bed was very comfortable with quality bed linen which was changed every day. The shower was in the bath so not walk in. Quality towels changed twice a day. On arrival as it was late we chose to eat in The Tap bar which was informal and the food was good. Breakfast was served on the terrace by the pool which is a lovely setting, however I would point out that if you order the continental breakfast be specific as the croissants are chosen for you so if you prefer plain rather than chocolate you had better ask for plain same with the pastry that is served. After the first morning we took the shuttle bus into Old Pasadena and had breakfast there which was a fraction of the price and very good. The service around the pool was very good and lunch could be served around the pool or on the Terrace. The fruit platter was excellant and one was more than enough for two. The pool area was suitable for sun lovers as well as those that like shade all in all very relaxing. An added bonus to this establishment is the beautiful grounds which include the Japanese Garden, also a secluded spot with hot tub, and lawned areas, all of which are kept in immaculate condition. The level of service is exceptional and we have to mention the concierge Geoff who took the service to a whole new level. Thank you we had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: On returning to The Langham after a trip to Palm Springs we stayed in a club room which I suggest yo...
