“Very pleasant stay on Club Floor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2011

I had a very pleasant 4 night stay from Mar 20 - 24 in Room 729. The Club Lounge reminded me of a Ritz Carlton and service was always pleasant. I felt the room rate was reasonable and valet parking is competitively priced with other hotels. Breakfast each morning in the Club Lounge was excellent. Overall the hotel ambience is relaxed and gentile. Although the hotel seems busy with daily seminars, etc the 7th floor was quiet and I saw few guests. My only suggestions are for the hotel to: put a towel bar near the bathroom sink; update the combination bath/shower to install a handheld shower instead of fixed in place shower; and provide coffee maker in the room. Also, clarify the web site to ensure guests can reserve club room with view facing the horseshoe shape front garden/city view. I thought I had reserved city view room but was given room on check that overlooked parking/mountain. I recommend this hotel and intend to stay here again when in LA. It is much more relaxed than the downtown Marriott at Staples Center, etc.

This was my second stay at the Langham Huntington and the first with my family. The hotel has tremendous history and is spacious and well appointed. A great place to stay away from the hurried pace of downtown LA. Stayed in the Lanai building with easy access to the pool and quick walk to the restaurants and bar. The rooms remind of a Ritz Carlton which the property was once affiliated - spacious and comfortable - albeit a bit tired. I recall rooms in the main building being more recently updated based on my first visit. We visited during the off season so it was not packed, although the property hosts a lot of weddings on weekends and conferences throughout the year. Very kid friendly although not over run with families. I would recommend the Langham Huntington for those looking for access to LA but with a low key stay slightly off the beaten track.

We went for my wife's Birthday, just for one night but felt like we had a mini vacation. Had amazing meal at The Royce and great food and snack in the club level lounge. Staff was great. They had a great spa discount with our room, Spa is very nice.

A beautiful hotel with a rich history. Oddly located in a pricey residential area, but that keeps things nice and quiet. I've had four separate stays with the Langham. Each time, I've ended up with a room in the Lanai complex, adjacent to the pool and tennis courts.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Over time, they have renovated the bathrooms as well, so things are a little more pleasant. The beds are huge and comfy - love the pillows here. See if you can get a first floor room facing the pool -- your sliding door will open right onto the patio. The grounds are beautiful and worth exploring. Perfect for a romantic stroll! Some of the suites/villas are amazing if you're willing to shell out the cash.

Quick points:
-The staff are all pleasant and friendly.
-Food isn't the best, but the setting makes up for it all.
-Valet parking only - pricey, but you have no other choice.

We stayed at the Langham during our honeymoon, and it was wonderful. Lucky for us my husband's sister got us the reservations for the three days we were there. We stayed on the 7th floor and had access to the club suite with all the amenities. The room was very clean and quiet! Everyone was very friendly, and the only downside would be no coffeemaker in the room. I love the area and the hotel, and will defintely be back.

The last time we stayed at this property it was the Ritz so we had high expectations as our last stay was absolutely perfect. However, this stay was disappointing unfortunately. The pool is now surrounded by rooms so close you can just about shake hands with those standing on their balconies. Our room was comfortable, nothing special. No coffee maker. We had to walk over an outside bridge, back inside the main building, though vast hallways, out to the valet area outside to get morning coffee. We reached it, freezing cold, and there were no cups and no coffee left. Someone went for more and it was 20 minutes before it was replenished. And when it was they were the tiniest cups imaginable. I mean, come on, really? We paid over $200 for our room and this is all you can provide? Room service arrived promptly but the food was horrible: caesar salad, tons of lettuce, boring. Salmon was overcooked, embedded in this horrible thick puree...yuck. Even the breakfast we ordered had so much pepper over the hash browns they could not be eaten. Food quality should be stellar for a hotel of this type. Overall, a disappointing experience.

We planned to visit our son in LA. We usually stay downtown...but it was the NBA all-star game weekend, and there were no rooms anywhere...so my son suggested staying in Pasadena. Went online and found the Langham. We stayed on the club floor. The food was delicious and breakfast, snacks, all drinks and an incredible cocktail hr were included. We were upgraded to a corner room with amazing views. All of the staff, from the valets' to the club floor servers were great. Expensive? Perhaps, but we were treated like royalty.
The evening appetizers were plentiful enough to serve as dinner. We will never stay downtown again. I took a great yoga class at the spa, also included. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We will never stay downtown again.
