Description: Slater’s 50/50® was founded in 2009 in Anaheim Hills, California by Scott Slater, a San Diego State graduate with a passion for gourmet comfort food and craft beer. Teaming up with Executive Chef Brad Lyons, they created the world’s first 50/50 burger – 50 percent ground bacon and 50 percent ground beef – taking the Southern California restaurant scene by storm. In 2011, the second Slater’s 50/50 opened in Huntington Beach followed quickly by the San Diego location. Since opening, Slater’s 50/50 has won a number of awards and accolades including “Best Burger” by The Orange County Register, OC Weekly and FOX 5 San Diego as well as Best New Restaurant by San Diego Magazine. Slater’s 50/50 has also been featured on national television shows including the Travel Channel’s Bacon Paradise and Discovery Channel’s United States of Bacon.

Out of the blue, my husband and I decided to drive 30 minutes to try Slater's 50/50. We are so glad we did! The food was as good as everyone said it was, and how can you loose with a hamburger that contains 50% ground bacon? The onion rings were worth the drive alone! I was most pleased with the atmosphere and service. The restaurant had a casual, pub feel to it. They have a HUGE selection of beers on tap...more than I've seen before. Our server was Amanda. She helped us select our beers and was so knowledgeable about the menu options. She did lots of suggested selling, but was never pushy. A restaurant can never succeed with "just good service" or "just good food", but when you combine both, it is a sure winner! Amanda was a gem and we will surely return!

The title says it all beside the fact that there a zillion (maybe 100) draft beers to choose from. Went after the Nevada-UCLA game, mild wait, 30 minutes. Stood by the bar with daughter and son-in-law trying to figure out which beer to have. They are listed on a menu but the beertender was great with his recommendations.

The place is nice inside, no frills, great atmoshere, super waiter. We had Mac&cheese balls with sweet potato fries as an appetizer, very good and a nice portion. The menu specializes in burgers but there are other creations to be had. They give you a 'build your own burger' sheet which looks like a job application….type of bread, cheese, toppings….etc, etc. Or you can order off of the menu.

I had the Patti Melt…huge and sooo good. Along with that (full calorie night) I had the Banana Foster shake with a shot of rum. To use a tacky cliche' OMG.

The night was complete and lots of fun, except that Nevada lost to UCLA. =(
Being from Las Vegas I'd go back to Slaters as nothing in LV compares to this place except maybe Bradley Ogdons.

Dozens and dozens of beers on tap. Very creative burger recipes! We also loved the Pittsburgh Pastrami. You won't have room for the desserts; schedule a second trip back at night for the Bacon Brownie or Blondie.
