The decor of the restaurant is so outdated. It reminds me of the bars/restaurants that used to be in lobbies of office buildings in the 80s and 90s. The food is consistent, the service is good, but there is nothing French about this place. The Cafe Bizou in Sherman Oaks is a better experience so if you can make it there, choose that location.

“Wow...what a great find”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

Great location off the main drag. Such a great place. It has an amazing corkage fee so make sure to bring in your best bottle of wine. The food was very good but the portion of vegetables was way too small. the server was excellent and very friendly. I recommend using open table to make a reservation to ensure you will be seated. not very many options for beer on draft.

“It Depends...”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

The quality of food is not dependable. I don't go there often, and when I do it's for a very special reason. My experiences have varied from exquisite to deplorable. Depending on the chef, the same dish can be delectable on one visit, and absolutely wrong, if not inedible, the next. The service is okay, but could be better. Having worked in a hostess/server capacity in the past, I am sensitive to the reality that wait staff don't have an easy job; but when I respectfully ask about allergens, I shouldn't be accused of "defaming the character of the establishment". I'm checking to find out what is in a cake's crust because my dad is deathly allergic to all nuts, not questioning the restaurant's integrity!!!

I can only speak for myself; hopefully, you will not have such varied experiences as mine have been!

“Consistently good food. Low corkage fee!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

We have enjoyed going here for years. Food is always good. Excellent fish. Love the Monk Fish. Plus they have $1 soup or salad that you can add to an entree. Even better, $2 corkage to bring your own wine. Makes it a very reasonable dinner.

“Still just going through the motions”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

It's been a few years since we visited Cafe Bizou. In years past it was a neighborhood go-to, reliable and satisfying if not exciting. Then... it went south and we went away. But we were inspired by the most recent Restaurant Week to see if things had righted themselves, so we ventured a lunch this past week. Nope. Sorry to have to report everything still very mediocre and forgettable. Lobster bisque is bland and unrecognizable; onion soup tastes canned and is served barely warm. The pasta with seafood is edible but not much good. The flourless chocolate cake has the texture of cottage cheese and is just unpalatable. Service is, as it always was, rushed, indifferent and sloppy. The valet parking is exceptionally slow and frustrating. Why is this place still thriving? I can't tell you. You can do so much better all over town.
