We went early in the morning by 9 to beat the crowd. The waffles are perfectly done and the chicken delicious and crispy! Order #18. Or the Obama special. But everything is good

Been to this location several times and always ordered the chicken breast and waffle. Love the combination. Decided to skip the waffle this time and chose the potato salad with chicken wings.
The salad was delicious, the texture perfect. The wings were crunchy and tasty, but I prefer the breast. It was mid-afternoon so there wasn't much of a crowd. As always, the service was
efficient and friendly. And, plenty of parking.

I have eaten at Roscoe's a few times and it's nothing unique anymore. So many other places have chicken and waffles, but you eat at Roscoe's (the Hollywood location) to say that you've eaten there. The food is decent, but after the first time, you never need to go back.

Located in an old Pizza Inn type building (or Pizza Hut, I always get them confused) in Pasadena you will find Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles.. The first thing you notice upon entering is the wonderful smell of expertly fried chicken--that is after you get over the huge photo of Barack Hussein Obama with his arm around Roscoe behind the counter. If a Republican posted that photo he'd be called racist--you know, fried chicken and all. Anyway, this is the best fried chicken since the loss of the Delta Blues Grill in New Orleans to Hurricane Katrina. I mean crisp, hot, not over battered, just rolled in flour and perfectly fried. And the waffles.....I can only speak for the buckwheat waffles, but WOW. The ambience leaves a LOT to be desired, but who cares when you can get chicken like this and have a lot of fun talking with the servers. They are friendly and overworked. Tip them well. Go to Roscoe's. You don't have to spend a fortune to have the best chicken to ever pass your lips. And I have eaten a TON of fried chicken all over the country. This is it, folks. Roscoe is the Bobby Flay and Mario Batali of chicken. Do not go anywhere else.

When in Pasadena, CA this weekend my husband and I decided to stop in at Roscoe's. We visited on a Sunday night around 8 p.m. and had no problem parking. The place was packed with a wait line. Roscoe's is more of a diner with a mixed crowd. So if your looking for a more upscale atmosphere, this is not the place for you. The building exterior and interior is dated.
We were greeted by friendly faces when we walked in. It was packed and very loud so we decided to do take out instead of eating in. We decided to order several items so we could get an idea of the overall flavors of the place. We ordered the Carol Special which came with a chicken breast and a waffle. We also ordered another plate which came with two thighs, cornbread, mac and cheese, and a side of greens. We also ordered a slice of sweet potato pie.
We both enjoyed the chicken which was crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The waffle was delicious and a great companion to the chicken. There was something in that batter that was addictive. The greens were prepared Southern style and were very good. The mac and cheese was also good and cheesy. The cornbread was a yellow sweet cornbread. The sweet potato pie had good flavors overall but a tad too sweet for us.
Overall, we loved the food but they forgot about us on our take out order. They took over 45 minutes to get our order out so that would be our only negative besides the pie being too sweet.
