“Outstanding Service, Really Good Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

This is one of my favorite restaurants, and one of the best spots in LA!! The quality of food is top of the line, the portions are very generous and the dishes/flavors are authentic. If you haven't had Peruvian food, this is the place to go. The menu has lots of options: interesting appetizers, salads, soups, meat/seafood entrees, pastas and vegetarian dishes. The sauces have bold flavors and can be made mild or spicy. And everything is made to order, so it's as fresh as it gets and just the way you like it! The dishes really have that "homemade" flavor and make you feel all good inside too! Even though the food is amazing, the best part about this place is the service. You can tell that everyone who works there really loves what they do and really want to make their customers' experience memorable. They are happy to explain various dishes and make recommendations based on what you like and are in the mood for. Overall, this is a great place, and you'll leave happy and satisfied!

“Very pleased”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

With only an appetizer and two main courses, it's hard to give a rave review but.... The hot rolls were great, as were the two salsas that came with them. Then the spinach-cheese empanandas had a nice flavor and came with an uniquely-flavored relish. We also had the Aji creamed chicken and grilled chicken over a wonderful corn salad. Both were very good. As were the Peruvian flan and the dulce de leche cookies.

We stopped at Choza Mama for Sunday brunch while visiting Pasadena. The food was outstanding and very authentic. I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch.

“Not so good”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

I had dinner here on a Saturday night, early evening about 7ish. The staff was friendly, but the food was not very good quality nor did it taste very good in my option. It had a heavy Asian infusion and I did not think it was a good representation of Peruvian food compared to my other experiences. My steak was not cooked to order, It tasted like it was cooked the night before. The waiter added an extra beverage item to our check and tacked on an automatic 18% gratuity. We only had four people in our party. We had them remove both items. I would not recommend this place at all. Sorry.

“Lovely spot in Old Pasadena”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

Enjoyed dinner here on a Friday night--restaurant wasn't very busy, but they still had a wonderful guitarist playing. Dishes were delicious, nice vegetarian options (not too common in Peruvian restaurants). Recommend.
