The staff is amazing and the king size room was beautiful. I will recommend this hotel to anyone I know. Everything was perfect and I was very shocked because I have been to other Courtyards and this was the best and I will return.

The hotel is on the edge of the vibrant Old Town section of Pasadena. A nearby Gold Line Metro stop connects to downtown Los Angeles. Very comfortable rooms, and a staff that seems genuinely interested in making your stay a pleasant one.

On the negative side, $17/day for parking seemed a bit stiff, and the concierge wrongly thought there was a Ferrari dealer nearby.

Thank you for sharing your experience at The Courtyard by Marriott Old Pasadena. Looks like you were in town for the Ferrari Concorso Car Show which has been in Pasadena for going on six years.
So glad you enjoyed your time here in Pasadena.

This location is convenient for me to visit family in Highland Park. The property is above average with nice clean rooms. The strange food service in the lobby is not great - but it's nice to have a little satellite Starbuck's on site for morning coffee.
Water is not included in your room - they sell it at $4.00 each. But there is a refrigerator and microwave in the room - so hit the grocery store for water and snacks.
TV does not offer a movie option, which is strange. Just an assortment of cable channels with no guide - so you have to do some surfing and sleuthing to figure out what is what.
And there is no safe in the room. That's a conundrum - I have never been in a hotel room without a safe!
Excellent location - easy to get to and close to everything. Nice valet parking, small but clean pool. (Pool area was in disarray - there doesn't seem to be any attention paid to the area and the lack of towels is inconvenient. Bring your own.)
Large discrepancy in room rates: $349.99 for a Friday night, $190.00 for a Saturday. So there is the potential to be way over-priced for this property.

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Courtyard by Marriott Old Pasadena. We appreciate your feedback. Weekend pricing is usually a bit kinder, the exception this time was a large Convention in the area.
Glad you did get to spend some quality time with family in nearby Highland Park. I do hope we have the opportunity to see you again in the near future. Until then, safe travels.

Based on reviews in TripAdvisor my husband and I stayed here while attending a meeting at the Conference Center even though other hotels are closer to the venue. What a good choice - the public areas are casually stylish and offer many opportunities to comfortably sit/eat/drink (types of seating etc). The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Only one problem with sound transmission of TV through the walls. Otherwise the service was excellent and staff friendly and attentive. Location is perfect, close to the light rail (it's very easy and cheap to get downtown by train) and lots of good restaurants. Would definitely stay here again if ever in Pasadena.

Room tip: Some rooms overlooking the (small) pool have terraces if you like that sort of thing.

Not your typical Courtyard Marriott. We have stayed at a lot of Marriott hotels. This felt more unique and upscale. Not a cookie cutter Courtyard for sure. First clue was valet parking. Walking distance to Old Pasadena and great restaurants. The lobby, bar and sitting area was large and more happening than any Courtyard Marriott I have ever seen. The staff was very friendly and welcoming every time we passed bye. My wife and I had a few observations and minor complaints. First, the elevators were strangely far from the lobby and front desk. Secondly the TP in the room was as thin and as cheap as a one ply can get. Obviously not a deal breaker, but out of sync with the rest of the place and I would expect more from a hotel that goes for over $200 a night. Lastly, the TV in the room seemed disproportionately small. It was a nice room with a newer LG flat screen mounted on the wall, but it seemed tiny. For my wife to comment that the TV was small means it was small. Again, not a big deal and wouldn't stop us from returning. We would definitely recommend it.
