The Courtyard is wonderfully located, rooms are well appointed with restful color palettes. Staff is very helpful. But a warning - the pool and spa area are being remodeled. This has created difficulty getting to and from the paid parking area and the hotel. Normally the traffic pattern would be through the courtyard which is now impossible. So - access is limited to one door, or the selection of an alternative route so as to go around the block and enter through the front entrance. A little noise on the afternoons is also present. Or - one can use valet parking and avoid the problem entirely.

This is a great place to stay. Definitely recommend it - but, just for now, be forewarned.

Thanks for sharing. Upgrades to the pool, spa and Courtyard are underway are due to be completed by December 20th.
While you can no longer cut through the Courtyard, access to parking should not at all be limited by the project.
Many thanks again for staying with us.

We have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott several times. We chose it this time as it is a very short walk to the Rose Bowl shuttle; we were going to the Cal Berkeley vs. UCLA Game.

Our king size room was very comfortable. It has a nice desk area; and I must say, the internet speed is stellar. It is also free. There is a nice couch area and comfortable bed. There is also a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The TV is of good quality.

We did self parking and it was easy to get to one's room from the parking lot. Valet parking is also offered. Both are for a fee.

There is a nice lobby area. We got back from the game in time for a late night Gin and tonic and chocolate chip cookie. Both are good.

There is also a business center.

Its walking distance to the restaurants, stores, etc. in the Old Pasadena Area. There is also easy access to freeways.

They are currently making upgrades to the swimming pool and courtyard area, so look forward to that next time we are in town.

Service is stellar.

Its a great place to stay.

I really like this hotel. The staff is excellent, the rooms are excellent - it is just a well done experience from top to bottom. The room decor is attractive, the beds are comfortable, wifi works well. Valets are quick. It's just exactly what it says it will be and each detail is attended to very well.

This was what you would expect from Courtyards. They are all basically the same which is why we enjoy staying there, you know what to expect. Clean and safe feeling, within walking distance to Old town shops etc. Even evening felt safe.

The only cons are that you pay $17.00 a day for parking, and although we only stayed one night we were charge 2 days parking. Shouldn't the parking fee be based on nights stayed? We arrived at 6 pm and left at 9 am, that's not even a full day in my book.

The reviews mentioned the wifi issues and that is dead on. The wifi is not good at all. You can check emails and SNS etc, but there is no way to stream movies or videos. No biggie for adults but teenagers may not like that.

There is no continental breakfast, fruit or anything here either. Next time we will probably stay elsewhere and there will be a next time as we are relocating to the area soon.

Room Tip: Be sure to check on those parking fees, and do not count on good Wifi

Thanks for your thoughts. Overnight parking is $17 self and $19 valet. If you were charged more than the one night, please reach out to me directly for resolution.

For those with Wi-Fi challenges we have just started our upgrade to a new company with five times our current bandwidth. This should help us stay ahead of these ever changing needs.

Thanks again for staying. We appreciate it.

When it comes to hotels in Old Town Pasadena there aren't many options but even if there were, the Courtyard Marriot would be high on the list.

The hotel is located about 2 blocks from W Colorado and therefore an easy 5 minute walk to all the shops, cafes and restaurants. The public areas of the hotel are light, bright and large offering very modern and comfortable surroundings. Staff were very friendly and efficient, from Valet to Front Counter to the Restaurant.

While parking at the hotel costs $17 for self park, you are instructed to park on the same level as your room. With a hotel door on every level, this allowed for very easy entry and exit to the hotel.

The room we stayed in was small, but very comfortable. It was again very modern, well appointed and offered lots of easily accessible power points and charging options for todays technology. We appreciated having a very comfortable couch to stretch out.

We couldn't fault the Courtyard on any count and think its a great option for both the tourist and business traveller.
