Location was great. It was easy to walk around Old Town. I was not impressed with the valet staff. One gentleman was very rude and unhelpful. The front desk was overwhelmed with people checking in and the wait was long. However, the staff in the hotel were very nice and attentive. Our hotel room was nice and quiet. We'd probably stay again.

My wife and I stayed here during the half marathon in Pasadena and found it a nice place to stay in a convenient location. We were about a mile and a half from the Rose Bowl and two blocks from Colorado Blvd, which has many shops, restaurants, and the Pasadena Convention Center. It is in walking distance from Old Town Pasadena so there is always something to do. It is also very close to the 110 Freeway so we could get in and out of Los Angeles very easily.

The hotel staff is nice and the rooms are decent for the price. Our room had a coffee maker (with Starbucks coffee), microwave, and a fridge. There is no view but who wants to spend time in a hotel room looking out the window when you are in Southern California? Check in time is 4:00 p.m. but we were allowed to check in early as soon as a room was available. We parked in the hotel's garage which was $15 per day so factor that in.

I normally stay in West Los Angeles when I am in town but just might start staying here in the future. It is extremely safe and pleasant and is less expensive. Pasadena is a wonderful town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on either side but the south side. The south side overlooks roof tops that are very...

I was pleased with my stay there mainly because the hotel is quiet, even on the weekend. I also noticed that this Marriott Courtyard brand is better than most other Courtyard hotels (Been to the one in Thousand Oaks in 2007, Virginia Beach in 2012, Kirkland in 2012). I must say that this Pasadena one is twice better than the other ones I've been to. The attendants were very polite and nice. Location wise, it is located very close to the main street. If you like to walk around and be able to stay in a hotel off the main crowd, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is pricy in my opinion, and this price rivals some hotel prices in downtown Chicago, but I will certainly consider this hotel when I come back.

Room Tip: Elevators are slow but it is a short building.

This Courtyard Marriott is a superb hotel. The front desk staff provided an effusive welcome. The lobby/common area is large and welcoming and a great place to unwind or have impromptu meetings with colleagues. The room furnishings are satisfactory for a hotel of this caliber. This hotel is located adjacent to Old Town Pasadena with a large selection of stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. The metro station, with easy connections to downtown Los Angeles, is within walking distance of the hotel. The Internet service (wireless) is suitable for ordinary email and web surfing, but probably will not suffice for large downloads or logging into remote servers. The hotel has only one negative attribute: There are only two options for parking: self-park @ $15/day or, Valet Parking @ $17/day - which is a bit steep.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool, rather than the street.

This hotel ranks as on of the busiest hotels I've ever stayed, probably due to its location in the middle of Old Town, the Civic Center, and entertainment venues. As busy as the hotel is, there's attention to detail at every turn, from housekeeping to the front desk, while the rooms are very, very quiet.

Speaking of the front desk, the personnel were always accommodating, no matter the time of day. Check-in was efficient and some at the front desks happily doubled as concierges when approached in this manner.

Be aware that though parking is ample, it's not free. Self-parking is $15 a day. Valet parking is offered, too.

The dining room was always very busy every morning. Breakfast is available every day with a choice of an omelet bar or more simple breakfast fare. Both are $10. The omelet bar chef is a very friendly guy and his cooking is top notch. Although there is a coffee bar offering Starbucks coffee, it's not an actual Starbucks.

We had an extended stay at this Courtyard--8 days--so we utilized many of the guest services offered. This Courtyard offers dry cleaning, plus there's a laundromat on the upper floors along with free detergent provided to guests. Both washer and dryer are $1.25 each for 40 minutes of washing and 40 minutes of drying.

Internet connection is excellent! Most spaces in the lobby and every floor offered lightning fast Wi Fi.

The decor of the rooms is contemporary and rooms are cleaned with attention to detail. In fact, the hotel staff was always seen cleaning this or that, including shampooing the carpets in the common areas, and mopping the elevators' floors and waiting areas daily This hotel ranks as one of the cleanest I've ever seen.

The pool was also attended to with the same attention to detail. Towels are provided, the pool is squeaky clean, and the ambiance is resort-like, with palm trees, contemporary patio furniture & umbrellas that gave an overall decor and feel for old Pasadena from days gone by.

Location is excellent for shopping or doing government business. Everything is within walking distance, plus bus transportation is everywhere. The Foothill Fwy (210) is one block away.

The only caveat is the disturbing number of homeless people everywhere in Pasadena and around the hotel--especially in a park directly across from the back of the hotel. The park posts signs warning drug use won't be tolerated, which gives a bold indication as to the illegal activity that occurs only feet away from the hotel's parking structure.

Overall, staying here made my trip to the area an excellent value.

We stopped in Pasadena for one night while on vacation in California. We just needed a bed to crash into for a few hours so we decided to go with this hotel because of the price. We drove in and were relieved that they offer valet parking. While checking-in, a nice man came over and offered our 3 year old son a bag of goodies which my son gladly accepted. We man checking us in gave us instructions on how to get to our room and also told us about their ammenities. Free wifi was included in the price of the room. There was a laundry facility in our floor. The room was small but very nice and clean. My only complaint is the refrigerator was making a loud nice so I unplugged it. Checking out was a breeze and the hotel is located near the Colorado shopping strip so we din't have to drive very far to enjoy Pasadena.

Room Tip: 5th floor is nice. No need to drive to enjoy the downtown area.

We traveled to Pasadena in February 2013 and what a great hotel. First visit to this hotel and we will definitely be back for future trips. The Front Desk staff were wonderful and Concierge very helpful. Loved the small cafe style restaurant. Lobby very spacious and comfortable. Love the individual TVS at settings. Room was nice and very typical for a Courtyard Marriott. The staff are what make this hotel so great. Liked that there was safe walking around old town very close, even at night.
