What was an otherwise comfortable and enjoyable stay was offset by an extremely noisy air conditioner. It was a case of sleep stuffy or not sleep at all. Earplugs saved the day. Also thought $15 day was a bit rich given the going price for parking.

A reasonable hotel, with a honest price/quality ratio considering its location. The rooms are fine, even though the bathroom feels like "back to the '60s" :-) There's nothing remarkable about it, which perhaps, if you are on a business trip, is a good thing :-) Parking is handy, even if expensive.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool can be noisy

This hotel was nicely located only 2 blocks from Colorado Blvd. A wonderful staff who were very responsive to our needs or wants. The free chocolates at the reception desk were a bonus. The comfortable room overlooked a parking lot, so not great views, but being on the 4th floor was good and quiet. We felt safe and the valet staff were helpful, courteous, and prompt. Although we paid $17/day for valet parking ($15/day for self park), we were happy to use the valet to park our car. The food at the Bistro was reasonably priced, convenient and tasty. We were close to the freeways and the main street of Old Town Pasadena. Nice pool and hot-tub, too.

I am a many-year Marriott Platinum Member and there is no hotel in the system that I look forward to staying in as this hotel. Moreover, all my business and NASA colleagues report similar experiences. Yes, the period of reconstruction of the lobby was difficult for both the staff and guests, and now it is finished and beautiful. If you have any difficulty at this hotel, ask to see the manager, Mr. Timothy Bristol, who is on-site most of the time, and in my experience, he will make it more than right!

Okay so I'd like to start out by saying we called at 4:30 on a Saturday to get a room for an unexpected nights stay in Pasadena. The check in was super fast and we were greeted the second we walked in the door.
We valet parked because we figured it was better to pay $2 extra plus tip to park. Self parking was $15 and valet was $17. SAVE YOUR $2. The hotel we found has a parking garage with access to each floor.
The lobby is nice. Lots of different seating and tv's. The bar/starbucks/cafe is decent. We ordered breakfast in the morning, it was pretty good.
One of the best things about this property is its location. It is walking distance from what must be 50 resturants and 100 shopping spots. Lots of high end stores and more unique stores.
Now there are two things I would say were not good. The bed was very hard & uncomfortable. This is a very important part of a hotel stay to my wife and I. Also with all of the updating in this hotel one might think that the bathrooms would have been given some updating. The tub & sink we're pretty dated.

Overall we would stay again if we had to. We paid a modest $119 for oue nights stay.

We have a daughter attending Occidental College, and the hotels in the immediate vicinity of the college campus in Eagle Rock (mostly 2-star) have not suited us. We have stayed at this Hotel in Pasadena a few times now, and find this both comfortable and convenient to Occidental College. The Hotel itself is a standard Courtyard, with the usual 3-star comforts. There is a good, hot breakfast offered every morning. If you have a car, skip the valet parking and park your car yourself. The Hotel has an unusual parking garage that is connected to the Hotel at every floor. So, once you know which floor your room is on, you can drive up to that floor of the parking garage and walk directly onto your room floor. The drive over from the hotel to Occidental College takes less than 10mins. In the evenings, Pasadena is a great town to explore with interesting restaurants and art house movie theaters.

My husband and I, our daughter and son-in-law had the pleasure of staying at the Courtyard Marriott from December 29, 2010 through January 2, 2011. We were there to see our Badgers play in the Rose Bowl.
From the time we made our reservations until we checked out the staff at the Courtyard were gracious hosts. From the first greeting on our arrival until the farewell upon our departure, the staff was making ours a first class visit. The concierges knowledge provided us with excellent choices for place to eat, to relax and to see "Old Pasadena". The hotel had increased staff during the busy times so we didn't have to wait for assistance. Every employee we met from the doorman, to the housekeeper, to the buffet crew greeted us with a smile and a cheerful hello. We were their guest and they made us feel they were glad to have us visitng their "house".
The hotel is located in the heart of everything and yet in a quite area of Old Pasadena. After a day's outing, we would relax in the lobby and lounge area which had comfortable seating arrangements for reading, watching television, logging on to the internet and enjoying a beverage and snack from the food and beverage bar.
We might not have won the Rose Bowl but we won with our stay at the Courtyard Marriott.
