“A huge disappointment.”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

I booked here on the basis of the reviews. I've rarely felt so misled. The ambience was spoiled by over enthusiastic air conditioning. Service was spoiled because the staff insisted on interupting our conversation with constant requests for reassurance that the food was satisfactory ( 7 interuptions in a one course meal!). And the food was frankly middling at best. Over hyped and under performing?

“Fabulous as always”
Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

In town for the races. Enjoyed the best meal we ever had ( that says a lot). Barramundi was outstanding- better than when we had it in Australia. My husband had the spicy tuna and surf and turf. Flavor sand service was outstanding!

“Glad we went”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

We had just finished at Huntington Library having had a late breakfast and wanted to get an early dinner. I quickly checked Trip Advisor and Roys came up as No.1. I was a bit dubious about trying a chain, but decided to give it a go. The food was excellent, the service was also good. We would go back and we have no hesitation in recommending it. Enjoy!

“Great Food and Service”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

This was our first visit to any of the Roy's chain. We arrived early (5:15 pm) on a Friday evening, without a reservation. We were seated immediately, by the very pleasant hostess. Our waiter was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable about the menu. If the food had been bad, we still would have been happy with the service, however ...

The food was great. My husband had a 3 course special, while I opted for a regular appetizer and entree. I thought the portions on the prix fixe menu might be smaller, but thast was not the case.

My Poke appetizer was amazing, and his spare rib spring rolls were wonderful. Our entrees were equally as good. The Barrimundi was described as "dynamite roasted" so I feared that it would bee too spicy, however there was ample flavor that did not hide the flavor of this wonderful fish. My husband's petite filet was cooked to perfection.

I would definitely go again, reservations for anything later than 5:30 looked to be a must.

“Consistently great food and service”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Roys has to be one of the best chain restaurants in the world. No matter what location, the menu is thoughtful, the decor tasteful, the food well prepared and consistent, and the service outstanding.

It was busy, so the reservation was a good choice. We arrived a bit early to have a drink in the bar, and when the table was ready, everything was moved to the dining area without effort. Our server was properly educated in the dishes, the timing of courses was perfect, with absolutely no rushing despite it being a busy Saturday night. It's not a quiet dining area, but conversation is still easy. Management makes the rounds frequently to ensure everything is up to par, and specifically asked us about a dish that was new to the menu. With Roy's, there are items common to all restaurants, and items considered "local". And yes, the Chocolate Souffle is everything that others say.

Don't hesitate to dine at this Roy's or any other.
